I realize that many of you do not know me or my background. A new portrait photo calls for a brief introduction🤍
I have always championed complexity and imagination over functionality and simplicity. For most of my life, I have been told to be practical. Study hard, work hard, and follow the manual to optimize your chances of stability. As an only child, I spent a lot of time alone in my head. I’ve always been the quiet observer and sensory analyst. While I still cannot make much sense of the world, I am choosing to dedicate my craft to creating my own.
Growing up with a multicultural perspective lead me to question the topic of beauty. I chose to study cosmetics and fragrance as a means to be near my obsession with art and beauty, while trying to stay within the boundaries of commercialization (trying to be practical again). That is where my fascination with scent really blossomed.
I mastered several nose training and cosmetic chemistry courses during my bachelor’s degree, all while tuning my unique taste and style for perfumes. Soon after, I dove headfirst into product development under large-scale beauty companies for a few years. I have since developed a meticulous approach to designing personal and home fragrances.
I love the innovation process so dearly. That is why I started REMAINS of a GESTURE: to be a personal platform and outlet to create and share my ideas freely with others. Becoming an independent perfumer has allowed me to communicate beyond words, and offer a bridge between my dreams and reality. I feel lucky to be able to share this with the world, even in tiny ways.
