Trans people need to have their rights protected because we deserve freedom and asylum. I moved to the UK from Bahrain and did not endure over a decade of oppression under a regime which condemned me from being true to my nature to find myself demanding rights from a government I sought sanctuary from.
If trans people loose their rights it will only have a destructive impact to society and benefit no one. It will be a regression of decades of progress and make the future less safe and certain for many of us..
I want Trans people to know that regardless of what is happening now, there is still love out there and help is on the way. At a time like this, I can only remember how I was able to survive life under such harsh laws. I always kept positive; there's always that glimmer of hope. I want the government to keep us protected.
