What is the self?
Is it the composition of Id, Ego and Superego as Freud determined?
Or are we simply a collection atoms - ancient star dust - floating through the universe with no meaning or free will?
Is the self independent of the body, or solely one’s physical nature?
I don’t know the answer to these questions, but I do know you should get your self into a pair of ASICS Superblast 3’s.

As a kid I thought I wanted to play cricket for Australia, but this is where I’ve found myself instead.
I am content and relieved with my performance at World Cross Country - 39th and 4th Aussie - which wouldn’t be possible without heaps of support from coaches, teammates, opponents, agents, healthcare professionals, sponsors, family and friends.
I hope there is more so I can reflect the investment they have made in me.
Praise God I have made it this far from where I was.

A couple of tough days at the office over the last two months - but if the worst thing that’s happened to me is running 62:13 then life is pretty good.
Hoping for the training to pay off soon, and for a more flattering pair of tights next year.

One of the things that makes running special is its individual nature. The responsibility of achieving goals on race day lies solely with each of us.
I also love that, despite this, I’m able to run for a team in Team Tempo. It’s not a group or a club, but a team of people working together to reach those goals. Seeing Haftu run the way he did and take a National Title, while also being a part of it as a teammate felt very special.
If you’re still reading, this is the sort of person he is ⬇️
Dowdy and I went across to Victoria to race a 5k with Haftu last year and we both had stinkers. These sort of races usually leave me pretty flat, but he and his mum Maria shouted us two dinners that night (!!), went well out of their way to drop us back at our hotel, and made what could’ve been a flat night a very happy and memorable one.
