What happens when two amateurs take on the biggest mountain bike race in the world? 🌍 The Queen stage at @capeepic this year threw everything it could at @teamwilkinsonwilkinson but it never got us down. From snapped chains on the start line to torrential downpours and the hardest climbs in the western cape it was a brutal day out. If you told us 2 weeks ago we’d be standing on the podium at @4islandsmtb this week we’d have had your arm off. After getting sick at Cape Epic we had no idea how we were going to recover in time for this race. However the body does amazing things and so does @jessleighwilkinson 🥰 an absolute powerhouse this week and raced her heart out every single day. What a flippin woman I call my wife. ❤️ I love racing with you so much. Proud of you every single day. Wowza. Our first mixed podium together. Unreal. 🥉🏁 Stoked to have my dad @chriswilky42 come with us to shoot all week too. So special that you were able to be with us again at our second @epicmtbseries race this season! 📸 Thank you @4islandsmtb it’s been an unbelievably beautiful week filled with steep climbs, insane views and of course rocks! A fully challenging route to ride, let alone going full gas racing all week 😂 nice one!
