Time to build a Rocket
I was visiting Dave Walters up in Seattle, an amazing glass artist, who gave me this cast off blown glass rocket flame. I’ve decided I need to build a large ceramic rocket - in what I’m calling an unexpected forced collaboration between us.
Funny story - it turns out Dave and I both went to RISD - and we were in the same class of ‘93. Good thing we finally met 30 years later. #rocketman #ceramics #glassblowing #risd @davidwaltersglass

It was an epic Heidi Birthday Weekend getaway to Seattle. Something about that air up there in the Pacific Northwest - it produces the friendliest, most wonderful people. It was so great to see so many friends - some of whom we have known through socials and other friends but never met in person until this weekend. Incredible studio visits to Chihuly’s Boathouse (shoutout to Morgan), Pilchuck, Dave Walters and Nancy Callan. 💜
The number one request when people visit our house is "you should do a house tour...!". So here it is - you can now get a better sense of what you can fit into a 900 ft/2 house and 400 ft/2 studio with a family of 5. ❤️🏡

We booked a special tour inside Paimio Sanatorium by Alvar and Aino Aalto. I was outside in January in the snow, but it was such a treat to see all the colorful spaces inside and the various treatment areas for tuberculosis patients. The standard treatment was sitting in a chair on the roof deck for five hours a day… You are not allowed to speak or read a book so you could focus on your breathing even in winter. @paimiosanatorium@alvaraaltofoundation #alvaraalto #paimiosanatorium #architecture #finnisharchitecture
