Created in a single evening, solely utilizing a Yamaha PORTASOUND PSS-680 keyboard rendered simply into a SONY TCM-200DV handheld tape recorder, SONG SKETCHES embodies a lo-fi flash in the pan aesthetic that oozes low budget FM synthesis and tongue in cheek video game soundtrack charm.

this equally ambient and chaotic debut acts as an entry point into parts unknown. beginning with a conceptual piece mimicking the sounds of throwing an audio recorder into the Mariana Trench, it moves into harsh but ambient soundscapes punctuated by blown out audio-tuned vocalizations and dark but dreamlike tones. thats when everything changes - halfway through the piece, you are first bathed in layers of acoustic ecstasy tinged with introspection before being whisked away into yet another dream, only this dream is calming and womb-like. as you again drift off you are awoken once more as you are lured by the darkness into the final composition, a harsh yet somber lullaby resulting in a cacophony of bewildered jazz saxophone and percussion that thrashes its way to the end
