Michaila and Ryan called us from London about a year ago to share with us their dream of getting married on the Balaeric Islands. They painted a gorgeous picture of sandstone quarries, art projections and days out at sea sailing and eating tapas. They weren’t sure about a ceremony or a photographer (and many of the things we’ve grown accustomed to after 10 years in this industry) but this they were sure of— a week in the sun with their people, making memories & offering their creative gifts in a generous way to those they love.
Michaila is an incredibly gifted designer and creative director (by trade and by nature) and we knew from the very beginning this wasn’t just going to be a wedding or a well-planned trip but a work of art- something that connects everyone with their own inner artist, with each other, and with the natural world. An expression of love that leaves everyone with the desire to live more abundantly.
What we witnessed was a beautiful exchange- their people taking time off to fly across the world and embrace new experiences, trusting in Michaila and Ryan’s generous and creative way of living to guide and warmly embrace them from start to finish- and a bride and groom that saw their wedding as an opportunity grander than themselves. What they offered their loved ones was so much more than breathtaking views or the feeling of Mediterranean salt on their skin- they inspired abundance, creativity, presence, adventure and joy. Lasting gifts we are confident we all took home with us!
We are forever grateful for these two beautiful souls for bringing us along on their adventure. Here is the intro to their film, with so much more to come soon!
We know that long form content doesn’t get very much love on here, but this ten minute film is one that we feel truly proud of and are so excited to share today. This film, this couple and this wedding weekend embody everything we are most about— embracing the imperfect and the unplanned with uncompromising joy, a priority on connection with people and place, a laid back playfulness when it comes to celebrating met with sincere presence for the moments of emotional gravity, and most of all a deep love for film, music and FUN!
Last Fall we got to experience New England for the first time with Ella and Brent and their incredible friends and family, many of whom we have come to know and adore after filming her brother’s wedding here in CA a few years back (shoutout @henrypriestmiller & @phoebenicolemiller , love you guys sm!). When Ella reached out and told us that she was getting married in her childhood backyard in Rhode Island we knew we were in for a treat, but nothing could have prepared us for how sweet it would be.
We started the weekend at @castlehillinn where her parents dated back in the day, drinking martinis and sharing stories and exploring the coastline where Brent asked Ella to marry him. The wedding day at her childhood home had been a labor of love long in the making by many loved ones (one of the things we love most about backyard weddings), but no one could have planned for the forecast that day- a consistent downpour of rain thanks to hurricane nigel!
Their guests bought out every pair of rain boots at the local walmart, Ella and Brent practically skipped down the aisle laughing & everyone embraced the magic and comedic drama that felt so true to the couple— prancing around the property with their umbrellas and muddy boots while throwing back oysters 🦪 We’ve said it many times since their day that this would have been a beautiful wedding with sunshine, but it was made *perfect* with the rain.
It is a challenging task to wrap up so many moments and emotions into a ten minute highlight film, but we hope you enjoy the journey and fall in love with these two as much as we did!
One of our favorite parts of Mich & Ryan’s film— homage to the spectacular place they chose to wed & a moment of gratitude for the beautiful island of Mallorca!
In every film, we are faced with the question of how to best introduce the couple and where to begin in their story. After 4 days of shooting with Michaila and Ryan, the options were plenty but the choice was easy— and so began our love letter to the couple who tattooed each other’s legs on their first date ❤️🔥
One of our guiding principles in life and in filmmaking is to “slow down and make room”. There’s a moment for energy and playfulness as well as opportunities to let the quiet moments breathe. And weddings are rich with all of it! Kelly and Drew served us up a feast of energy and emotion, and this excerpt from their film is one of our favorites. After a few jokes, stories and resounding laughs, Kelly’s dad shared a letter he had written to her new husband Drew. There were deep breaths and pauses, meaningful glances and tears— all speaking to the gravity of the moment and a father’s love for his daughter. All of it worth holding onto 🕊️
Some of our favorite moments from Liv & Alec’s wedding day this summer in Pebble Beach. The sun smiled on us all day (a Monterey miracle!) until the most beautiful sunset that got everyone out of their chairs and onto the balcony at dinner, but it still couldn’t touch the warmth of this love. These two radiate kindness, generosity and gratitude for what they have and it was a joy to share in the cozy atmosphere they created and see their people show up for them so big! We love you Liv and Alec, cheers to forever 🥂
11.23.25. Let’s keep going @wreid17 !!!!!!!!!!
A glimpse into the most intimate and meaningful day of our lives.
From before Wes and I even got engaged I had saved a video from @ironandfern and said I needed to have them as part of our wedding weekend somehow. It was a dream come true to work with them and we feel beyond grateful to have this video from them to hold onto forever.

A few of our favorite moments from Molly & Sully’s film— a day that felt like a movie for a couple full of soul. Wish we could live this one all over again!
