Exhibition identity, custom typeface, title wall animations, and intro and section texts for Video After Video: The Critical Media of CAMP, a show at MoMA by the Mumbai-based artist collective CAMP.
Stillヾ(✿゚▽゚)ノ that I got to bootleg MoMA’s official typeface on my very first show. The end result was “MoMA Wrong,”a topsy-turvy take on MoMA Sans, in tribute to CAMP’s own DIY typeface, “Wrong Font.”
An additional treat to work with were CAMP’s “backronyms” — backend acronyms procedurally generated to expand the possibilities of their name — which I made into a motion graphic for the title wall. I had a secret ambition to make a website that would actually generate infinite randomizations of backronyms for the projection, but alas … everything was manual in the end (Indesign scripting notwithstanding) … my one regret ……
Some fave backronyms: Code As Magical Promises, Contracts Allowing for My Protests, Challenges After My Promises, Culture After More People
Loved being able to work on a show that was all about new media, archives, institutional intervention, bootlegging, and playful critique •ू(ᵒ̴̶̷ωᵒ̴̶̷*•ू))੭ु)
