Another amazing Kallio Block Party day got done and dusted! We would like to thank you all great selectors @djlordfatty@dreadlocktales@niffi_d@joonas.naumanen@liltonys_music4friends@ocean__people__@jussiuusitalo@tomtomsdelights for spinning the sizzling hot wax throughout the day, as well as you all lovely people who ended up to our Ensi Linja, and danced the very hot summer day away. Also last but not least, massive big ups goes to all @kallioblockparty organizers and volunteers who made this legendary street festival possible again.

It’s @kallioblockparty time again! We are very excited to take over the green street of Ensi Linja, and transform it to a tropical street carnaval on Saturday 2.8. A bunch of vinyl enthusiasts will showcase their taste and talent in selecting records, and once again we will make a warm journey together from reggae to all the way to house music. We are more than happy to announce that once again we have plenty of great summer times ahead! You will find our rebuilt soundsystem and the whole bunch of tropical jungle creatures in following locations in the upcoming summer. Lets make most of the summer, and dance it to a great one again!

Nyt vaunumme vaipuessa talviunille, haluamme kiittää kaikkia teitä vanhoja sekä uusia ystäviä erittäin hauskoista hetkistä! Oli ilo viettää aikaa yhdessä hyvän levymusiikin parissa kesän lämmössä. Jos nautit kanssamme kesästä, ja haluat tukea projektiamme ensi kesää silmälläpitäen, meillä on vielä muutama IRIE kangaskassi jäljellä. Jatkakaamme ensi vuoden puolella lumien kadotessa siitä mihinkä jäimme, eli hauskapitoon sekä kesästä nauttimiseen!

Since our caravan has now gone to winter sleep, we would like to thank you old and new friends for the wicked summer! It was a pleasure to share time with you all, dancing to good record music in warm weather. If you feel like you enjoyed the summer with us and you would like to support our project, we still have few IRIE tote bags left. Once it’s warm again, we all shall continue where we left off, having jolly good time!

At the beginning of year 2023 year we decided that we’d take our love for spinning favorite records outdoors to the next level. After brainstorming and planning for some weeks, we ended up buying a 1979s banged up caravan. Rebuilding the thing for party purposes took us some long days for over a month and half. The caravan needed to be build solid enough to be able to use the turntables and avoid feedback, but not too heavy to stay road legal. The handy skills we’ve learned through out our lives got in good use, we did everything on our own, from scraping, sanding, welding, grinding, fitting, taping, wiring, insulating you name it. It was awesome to get creative with the interior, lights and decorations, our the spent decade in tropics and warm countries definitely inspired the look a lot. Soundsystem is also our own design, and by the crispy sound of it, it gets the job done great. The true passion project of ours was after all, really worth of the sweat blood and tears, even though at some stages it didn’t feel like it hah. We will be enjoying the fruits of hard work and spinning our favorite records all around Helsinki over the summer 2023. See you out there☀️
