🌐 Generative AI in music production at Vivatech
🎤 Romain Simiand represented Ircam amplify during Vivatech on stage 2 during the keynote “Melody and Machine: AI’s New Tune in Music Creation”
AI can already create tunes rapidly, in a fraction of the time it takes a human, contributing to the vast number of AI-generated tracks as of 2023.
The discussion tackled the challenges of audio AI and proposed that AI enhances rather than replaces human creativity.
✨ It highlighted AI tools that support artists and music analysis, prompting us to ask: how can we create a dialogue between humans and machines that is both productive and meaningful?

“Turn up the Heat”. 💣🔥 A challenge given to us by Viktor & Rolf Fragrances (@lorealgroupe with @iffinc ) and that we successfully met.
Our goal: to design Infrared sound to deliver exactly the same sensations as you feel when you smell the fragrance: "a sound and a fragrance that turn up the heat".
How to make chocolate taste good by sound? 👂🍫
How do you make your uniqueness known to as many people as possible, when chocolate is only available in a handful of stores? How can you showcase your creations online, without actually tasting them?
Taste is a vector of the imagination and acts on sensory memory.
Together with Maison @victorethugo , we :
- retranscribed the sensations of its chocolates in sound, even without having to taste them.
- amplifed sensations when taste and sound are combined at the same time.
📀 May 2013, @daftpunk completed their discographic masterpiece with "Random Access Memories." Garnering five Grammy Awards and immediate triumph, featuring a global hit ("Get Lucky").
10 years later, to celebrate this legendary album, @ircamamplify@centrepompidou@ircam_paris and @sonoriummusic offered a unique experience in a spatial and immersive format as it has never been heard before on the occasion of the Moviement Program.
