VB G-RAM-G Annual Action Plan 2026–27 Finalised for Tawang District Tawang ::14/05/2026 :: The first Governing Body Meeting for finalisation of the Annual Action Plan under the VB G-RAM-G scheme for the financial year 2026–27 was held this afternoon at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Tawang. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner-cum-DPC Tawang, Namgyal Angmo,IAS and attended by Zila Parishad Chairperson Leki Gombu, ZPM Jemiethang-Dudungkhar Tsering Yangzom, ZPM Tawang Sonam Nordzin, Assistant Commissioner-cum-Director (RD) Tenzin Jambey, Block Development Officers and officials from the Rural Development Department. Welcoming the members, Dy. Director (RD) Tenzin Jambey presented the proposed list of developmental works under the VB G-RAM-G Plan for 2026–27 through a detailed PowerPoint presentation. The proposed projects are aimed at strengthening rural infrastructure and improving public welfare across the district. During the deliberations, ZPC Leki Gombu urged the Rural Development Department to provide copies of the proposed work list to all ZPMs to ensure transparency and wider participation in the planning process. He also suggested the inclusion of solar-powered initiatives such as solar lamps and solar water heaters under the scheme, emphasising the importance of sustainable and eco-friendly development in the district. In his address, he further appealed to all Gram Chairpersons and ZPMs to compulsorily enrol as Civil Defence volunteers, highlighting the significance of community preparedness and collective responsibility during emergencies. The meeting concluded with constructive discussions and a collective commitment towards effective implementation of the VB G-RAM-G Annual Action Plan for the holistic development of Tawang district.

JNV Tawang Student Emerges as State Topper in National Biology Examination Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh – April 27, 2026: In a remarkable academic achievement, Tai Rina, a student of PM SHRI School, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Tawang, has been recognized as the State Topper in the National Standard Examination in Biology (NSEB) 2025. The examination, conducted across India and overseas, witnessed the participation of 42,398 candidates. Among them, Tai Rina secured a position in the top 1% of 302 candidates from Arunachal Pradesh, bringing immense pride to the institution. The NSEB is organized by the Association of Teachers in Biological Sciences (ATBS) under the aegis of the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), Mumbai, with the objective of promoting excellence in biological sciences among students nationwide. The examination was held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, across 1,705 centers in India and abroad. Her outstanding performance reflects not only her dedication and academic excellence but also the strong educational foundation provided at JNV Tawang. Expressing his pride, the Vidyalaya Principal, M. L. Meena, stated, “Tai Rina’s dedication and hard work set a benchmark for other students. A significant boost to healthcare services in Tawang On 06/04/2026, two Force 4×4 ambulances equipped with critical care units, along with a three-year AMC, were handed over under Project Sadbhavana 2025–26 by the Indian Army. The handover was carried out by Brigadier Alok Mishra and Colonel R K Banu. The ambulances were formally received by DMO Tawang, Dr. Thutan Lhamu, on behalf of the Health Department. The programme, held at Gyalwa Tsayang Gyatso High Altitude Stadium, was graced by Deputy Commissioner Tawang Namgyal Angmo,IAS Leki Gombu,ZPC Tawang Tenzin Monpa,ZPM Kyidphel and Sonam Nordzin ZPM Tawang. Also present were DRCHO Dr. Rinchin Neema and Incharge Medical Superintendent, KDS District Hospital Tawang, Dr. Thupten Tsering. In a challenging terrain like Tawang, where timely access to healthcare is often difficult, these advanced ambulances will play a crucial role in saving lives by ensuring rapid and safe transportation of critically ill patients. Tawang :: 02/04/2026 :: A review-cum-coordination meeting involving all departments, the Indian Army, paramilitary forces, and Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members was convened this afternoon at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Tawang for the upcoming DCs conference at Tawang. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner of Tawang,Namgyal Angmo, IAS. Among the dignitaries present were Zilla Parishad Chairperson (ZPC)Leki Gombu, Zilla Parishad Members Tenzin Monpa and Sonam Norzin, Superintendent of Police Tawang Tasi Darang, ADC Jang Hakraso Kri, representatives from the Army, Bazaar Secretaries, and Heads of Offices from various departments. The session commenced with a welcome address by Assistant Commissioner-cum-DPO, Sangey Wangmu Mosobi. In her address, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted that preparations are underway for the upcoming mega conference scheduled to be held from 8th to 12th April 2026 in Tawang. She emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts and active cooperation from all departments and stakeholders to ensure the successful conduct of the event. A detailed review of progress was undertaken, with the Deputy Commissioner seeking updates from all concerned officers regarding their assigned responsibilities. She urged officials to complete tasks well in advance and avoid last-minute inconveniences. Stress was also laid on maintaining environmental sustainability during all events, with a call to minimize the use of plastic across the district. Additionally, she directed that no construction materials should be left unattended in public areas, ensuring smooth traffic movement throughout Tawang. Training of Field Trainers for Census 2027 Begins in Tawang Tawang :: 30/03/2026 :: The training program for Field Trainers in preparation for Census 2027 commenced today at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Tawang. The session is being led by Master Trainer Dr. Dargey Tsering, SVO, along with Shri Manturaj Nath, Research Officer (Map), Directorate of Census Operations, Arunachal Pradesh. Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner Tawang Namgyal Angmo,IAS emphasized the critical role of field trainers in ensuring the success of the upcoming census operations. She highlighted that trainers must possess in-depth knowledge and clarity of procedures to effectively guide field staff. Stressing accuracy and accountability, she urged all trainees to carry out their responsibilities with sincerity and dedication, noting that error-free census data is vital for the nation’s planning and development. Earlier, the Additional District Census Officer, Tenzin Jambey, welcomed the participants and introduced the trainees to the master trainers. He encouraged attendees to actively engage during the sessions, seek clarification on doubts, and remain attentive throughout the training. Master Trainer Dr. Dargey Tsering expressed optimism about the program, stating his confidence that the trainees would grasp the concepts thoroughly and, in turn, effectively train field-level personnel. A meaningful programme on “Introduction to #Vipassana Meditation – A Path to #InnerPeace and Mental Well-being” was successfully held this afternoon at Kalawangpo Convention Hall, Tawang. The programme was sponsored and organised by MLA Lungla, Tsering lhamu, and coordinated by Sangey Sangey Phuntsok Nguimo . The session was enriched by insightful guidance from resource persons Diganta Kalita and Rishikesh Ji, Trustee, Assam Vipassana Trust, Guwahati. The event witnessed the gracious presence of ZPC Tawang Leki Gombu, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tawang Rinchen Leta, ZPMs Tenzin Monpa, Pema Tsering, Tsering Yangzom, Sonam Norzin, along with Pema Ngawang, Ngawang Norbu,Jampa Tsering and other public leaders and members of the general public. In her address,MLA Lungla emphasised the growing need for mental peace in today’s fast-paced world. She highlighted that while we have access to material comforts, we often neglect our mental well-being, leading to rising cases of anxiety, depression, and stress-related issues. She also pointed out the negative influence of social media on our mental health. In a significant announcement, she declared that Tawang will now host two 10-day Vipassana meditation camps annually—one during the summer and another in winter—to promote mental wellness and inner balance in the community.
