Back from a health detox at Kamalaya Wellness Resort. The calm and the stillness, away from my usual routine, gave me time to really think and made me realize that there is another side of life that needs to be focused on more than the grind that envelopes us.

Asha ji was one bundle of encouragement and inspiration. I remember, while recording Sharara for Mere Yaar Ki Shadi hai, Jeet and I were just young boys, new to the grind, recording with an idol who we were fans of from our childhood. Asha ji, didnāt treat us like newcomers, instead shared many stories, and recorded the track with great enthusiasm. I donāt have photos or videos from the recording but the memories are etched in my mind even after 25 years.
After a few years, at the release of Jab we met, Asha ji called specifically to congratulate me. She said sheās been listening to the album for last 3 days and she loved it; Nagada Nagada was her favourite track. Imagine what It felt like at that point. As if my life was fulfilled. I was elated.
People say donāt meet your heroes. Clearly they didnāt meet Asha ji. Such personalities are rare. Itās shocking to have a world without Asha ji.

Ekta has an instinct for romantic songs, and Iāve worked on so many successful romantic songs with her.
Thank you, Arijit. While we recorded this song months back, now while revisiting it, Arijit improvised the original tarana and took it to a new level, which I liked so much that we kept that version in the song.

The joy of working with Priyan Sir and Akshay Kumar is the clarity of their vision. This song is their tribute to Satyajit Rayās cinema. It also brought back fond memories from my childhood and all credit goes to Kumaar, our lyricist, who managed to weave in the nostalgia beautifully.
This song was conceived keeping my friend Neeraj Shridhar in mind as the singer, but due to a personal loss, Neeraj could not lend his voice this time.
Best wishes to Aarvan on his first song with me and for keeping the same vibe as Neeraj and thank you Armaan for stepping in at the last moment only for me.
