Due to an overwhelming number of entries, medalists will now be announced on Thursday, June 18.
Independent publishing continues to raise the bar year after year, and we want to ensure every entry receives the thoughtful attention it deserves.

We’re excited to share that judging for the 2026 IPPY Awards has begun!
Over the next few weeks, our judges will carefully evaluate each entry for its storytelling, creativity, design, and overall impact.
Year after year, it’s an honor to discover the best in independent publishing, and in our 30th year, we can’t wait to make this one even more special.

✨ Meet Amy Kolen! ✨
In just her first year as a book author, after 20 years as a published writer, Amy Kolen is already celebrating an exciting milestone. Her memoir, Inside Voices: A Prison Choir, My Mother, and Me, earned a Silver Medal in the 2025 Independent Publisher Book Awards.
When asked how winning has impacted her career so far, Amy shared that while the news is still fresh, “It certainly boosted my confidence!” And sometimes that kind of encouragement is exactly what an author needs to keep sharing honest, meaningful stories.
Amy is including her IPPY Award in all of her promotional materials, from press releases to social media announcements, making sure readers know her work has been recognized on a national stage.
When asked what she would say to writers thinking about entering book awards, Amy shared, “If you know your work is good, others judging these awards will, too!”
