Melbournes Best Ramen Visits over the years. Based off my subjective palette I’m a big chilli ramen fan as it elevates and adds flavour to the existing tonkatsu soup. These visits are over the last 10 years so chefs might of moved in and out.
1.
@kikanbo_melb 8.5/10 braised pork was a bit chewy almost Chinese style, noodles had good bounce but the broth is the standout with proper depth and spice
2.
@hakatagensuke 8.8/10 the OG my personal favourite tonkotsu broth in Melbourne rich consistent and always delivers
3.
@menshotokyo.au 7.8/10 very intense thick broth heavier style ramen that leans rich but done well
4.
@ramen_ako 7.5/10 chicken ramen lighter and easier to eat with clean more subtle flavours
5.
@machidashoten.aus 5/10 felt overhyped nothing bad but nothing stands out pretty average overall
6.
@snowmonkeyramen 6.5/10 very standard bowl doesn’t push anything new but still solid
7.
@misoyasakebar 8/10 really enjoyed this tonkotsu broth had good depth and flavour underrated spot
8.
@sara.craftramen 8.1/10 shoyu specialist but still fatty and intense strong flavour profile
9.
@shopramen 7.5/10 more westernised approach with spice and fusion elements different but works
10.
@ippudo.au 7.8/10 another OG loved it when it first opened still solid but haven’t been in a while
11.
@onsenjapanese 7.8/10 chilli ramen is the highlight but the standard tonkotsu is pretty mid
12.
@littleramenbar_melbourne 6.5/10 standard broth but the Hokkaido corn butter style adds something different
13.
@ikkoryuoz 7/10 had potential but broth came out lukewarm on the day which let it down
14.
@mrramensan 6.5/10 crowd favourite for many but for me just benchmark standard nothing stands out
