Welcome to Maritime 101 🌊 Every week, we’ll be breaking down the maritime industry into simple explanations designed to help you better understand the pathways, qualifications, careers, and terminology used across the industry. Because starting a career at sea shouldn’t feel impossible to figure out! First Up: STCW Here’s the simple version 👇 STCW is the internationally recognised safety training most people need before working professionally at sea. Whether you’re looking at: ⚓ Yachting ⚓ Deckhand work ⚓ Offshore ⚓ Commercial vessels ⚓ Cruise ships …this is usually one of the first steps. Save this as your beginner’s guide to STCW, and send it to someone trying to break into the maritime industry! #STCW #MaritimeTraining #WorkAtSea #Deckhand #YachtCrew #CommercialMaritime #CrewLife #CareersAtSea

SeaRegs were delighted to sponsor the RIB Rendezvous event with what is believed to be one of the largest gathering of RIBs with around 200 boats. It was a foggy start which soon burned off, and was a pretty impressive sight in Oban Bay earlier as we departed Kerrera marina @redbayboats Suzuki Marine UK

iPowerboat is officially rebranding as SeaRegs Scotland. We know some of you will be sad to see our existing brand fade out, but we're excited to be part of the overall SeaRegs family. The decision to rebrand as SeaRegs suits the company's position better today, and as always, we're looking forwards... This change reflects who we’ve become and where we’re going. While our name is evolving, our objectives remain the same: ✔️ Raising standards ✔️ Supporting professional mariners ✔️ Delivering first class training & compliance across small commercial vessels, and workboat sectors. SeaRegs Scotland represents a stronger focus on regulation, safety, and Scottish maritime identity—while continuing the trusted work many of you already know us for. Thank you to everyone who’s supported us on the journey so far. We’re excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to share what’s coming next. ⚓ The registered company name, registered address and VAT details remain unchanged.

🎄✨ Merry Christmas from the iPowerboat team! ✨🎄 As the year winds down, we’d like to say a huge thank you to all our customers, friends, and supporters for another great year. Tonight was round two of the staff Christmas celebrations 🎉 — following on from the SeaRegs Christmas do the night before — and while we may know our way around boats, it’s now beyond doubt that we are absolutely terrible at bowling 🎳😂. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, filled with good company, smooth waters, and fewer gutter balls than ours.

Yacht - Master Chef... Simon recently joined our team, and as part of working towards his Award in Education & Training he needs to deliver a short educational lesson, which is hard when your audience is a team of instructors! Simon chose a pasta making session! It turns out that's an easy way to get us all engaged! Nice work Simon! 🍽

Great to see Border Force in the area and to catch up with some of the team that we know and have trained. Ryan & Kerry's son Cody, being off school, got to try on some of their kit. Our #DaySkipper Theory students also got a chat from them about what they do at sea.
