Most people only see the final performance.
The finished combo. The stage lights. The clean execution.
But behind every performance there are hours nobody sees: repetition, conditioning, failed attempts, fatigue, frustration, and quiet consistency. Sometimes the anxiety makes you change things last minute...
Pole taught me that progress is definitely not linear!
Most of it happens slowly, privately and repeatedly..Long before anyone notices the result.
And honestly, thatโs one of the reasons I fell in love with it.
No matter how perfect on stage you will be...The journey before stage time is the most precious gift you could give to your self development!
๐ฅ 2nd Place Champions category IPAAT 2026 ๐ซถ
#polecoach #polecompetition #fyp #poelart
Pole taught me many things over the years.
Strength.
Discipline.
Patience.
Resilience.
But one of the biggest lessons was learning that confidence doesnโt always look perfect ( and believe me, my ballet background, my personal experiences, my former job in luxury hospitality forged in me that perfectionism that not always is good ๐ ).
For a long time, I thought performing meant always appearing composed, elegant and fully in control....Last year I decided to merge my ballet passion with Pole, leaving me with a lot of intrusive thoughts like "am I good enough?!".
But the reality is:
being on stage also means adrenaline, emotions, awkward moments, laughter, nerves and personality showing through. And so this year's performance themes were all about MADNESS, exploring natural movement instead of Ballet lines.
And honestlyโฆ those are often the moments that feel the most real.
Pole slowly helped me stop chasing perfection all the time.
It taught me how to express myself more freely, both as an athlete and as a person.
Even the loud Italian side of me ๐ฎ๐น๐คฃ (despite being in the UK for more than a decade....Italy will always be my root!).
What has pole taught you about yourself? Comment below! ๐ซถ๐ฅฐ
