Hard to capture video that looks like it does IRL, but here I'm doing some final tests on one of the dioramas that will be installed in downtown Amherst soon. This one reacts to 3 light sensors and does a little pattern when the levels change. #arduino #kineticsculpture #mechanical #kineticart

Making progress on a motorized cocktail machine. This is the mixer module that I finally got put together. I think it's cute! #cocktail #mechanics #kineticsculpture #robotics #cnc #mixology #wip #makersgonnamake #makersofinstagram

Another lighting prototype I've been working on. This one is tinted gypsum cement with acrylic rods to let the light through. It's hard to capture on video but the lights sorry of twinkle as you go from side to side. Promising! #lightingdesign #makersgonnamake #ledlights #makersofinstagram #prototype

I made this proof of concept for a folded metal pendant light, and I'm excited about this process! #metalwork #proofofconcept #wip #lightingdesign #waterjet #protomax #makersofinstagram #makersgonnamake #metalart

Today I am trying to get some decent pictures of these pendants in my ramshackle photo setup. I've got a fire going, so at least I'm not freezing out here 😊

Some of the "little uglies", tools I've made for this and that. They are mostly hacked together bits of scrap metal, but they do the job! Here we've got: 1. Pliers for tweaking 1/8" rod 2. Hold-down tool with a V-block weight 😬 3. The crumbiest marking gauge ever 4. A forming tool to finish 180°+ bends 5. Some janky bending forks 6. A camera mount for overhead shots 7. A wrench for some tight-space operation 🤷

Working on a new prototype money clip with a card pouch. I think it looks pretty good! I'd love to hear your thoughts about it. #wallet #moneyclip #prototype #protomax #waterjet #makersgonnamake #mensstyle #edc #pocketdump

Can a waterjet cut leather? Heck yes! Will the leather flap around and clog the waterjet nozzle? Also yes! How will you know? Mostly it just sounds different and then you get a really bad edge because no abrasive is coming through the nozzle. How do you fix it? A sandwich of 1/4" plywood to stop the flapping! #leatherwork #waterjet #protomax #diy #wip #makersgonnamake #maker
