Teresa Verde Pinho & Mariana Reis  @ogilvy_paris of @theoneclubforcreativity ’s 2020 Europe Next Creative Leader winners. 👉What is the piece of work you're most proud of and why? “If I Were A Man”: A trending Snapchat filter that got women talking about gender inequality. In this social activation, we invited women to share what wouldn’t have happened to them if they were a man, using the gender-swap filter. We’re proud of this idea because we believe it’s simple, smart, was created with a 0€ budget and has the power to help others. Share your story @ifiwereaman_ 👉Do you ever feel invisible at work and if so, how do you make yourself more visible? All the time. Actually, it’s more our passion, effort and work that sometimes feel invisible. We've been putting a lot of effort to raise our voices and fight back, however that has gotten us in trouble in the past. It’s a tricky situation. 👉Who do you admire in the industry and why? Teresa: I admire people that are obsessed and care about this business with strong work ethics, that are empathetic human beings and don’t play the political game. For me, that’s @erikareyesangel and Lisa McLeod. I’ve learned priceless lessons from them. Mariana: I have a long list. But without a doubt @jessicavwalsh is on the top, the way she shows that vulnerability isn’t a sign of weakness, the way she speaks up and fights for equality, the way she fought for her career is a reference for me. 👉What do you love about your job? The rush when you realize you just came up with an outstanding idea.

Malika Reid is an Art Director at @goodby_silverstein in San Francisco and one of @theoneclubforcreativity ’s 2020 North American Next Creative Leader winners. What is the piece of work you're most proud of and why? I’ve worked on some great projects this past year but I think my favorite has to be the launch of my podcast, @bagoflies_podcast , with Shareina Chandler. I love building the brand and learning how to use a medium that isn’t visual to tell stories. With @bagoflies_podcast , Shareina and I tackle a range of topics from racism to random pop culture through the lens of the white lies we all tell. Do you ever feel invisible at work and if so, how do you make yourself more visible? I used to feel invisible early on in my career but I decided to change that for myself by creating my own opportunities and not waiting for people to make them for me. You have to create your own space when there isn't one for you. Who do you admire in the industry and why? I admire my current collaborators. Kate Cullen is my copywriting partner and Shareina Chandler is my cohost on @bagoflies_podcast . They are both talented writers. Kate is so smart and witty, and Shareina can make any project fun and delightful. They both push and inspire me to elevate my craft whether it's client-facing work or a side project. What do you love about your job? I went to Ad School to study Art Direction because I love doing a little bit of everything and wanted a role that allowed me to do that. My job allows me to touch projects in different ways; from storytelling, to imagery, to design.

Mariana Albuquerque Senior Copywriter - Rothco part of Accenture Interactive 🇨🇮 👉What is the piece of work you're most proud of and why?I love Forbes' Ricky Brasil. I learned something new every day during the process. The idea took 8 months to go on air, and it was nearly impossible to make the A.I. talk. I learned how to make an A.I. laugh, talk, and a lot about corruption and compliance. But more importantly, the idea highlighted the face of corruption in Brazil to Forbes' audience. They don't look veeeery different from each other, to be honest. 👉Do you ever feel invisible at work and if so, how do you make yourself more visible? I usually feel cute. No joke. I'm a nice face to be in the room, people will stop and listen to me, people will smile, but none of what I'm sharing is taken too seriously. Whenever I feel that way, I come back with the best work I can, and have my points proven. I may be shy, but some pretty bold things can get out of this head. Within time people see me as someone who brings high level ideas to the table. 👉Who do you admire in the industry and why?As a Brazilian I grew up with many famous names to look up to. As I started working in agencies my fangirl side has turned into my everyday friends that are also doing important out there, like Gabriela Guerra, Heloísa Ribeiro, Carina Caye, Maria Clara Cardão, Maicon Silveira, and André Oberg. Going back to the fangirl, I really look up to Keka Morelle, Hugo Veiga, Diego Machado and Laura Florence for the positive changes they're doing in the Brazilian market - creative and human. 👉What do you love about your job? I love to tell stories. The idea of connecting to thousands of people and telling them a story that is worth watching is just thrilling. I also love the challenge of teasing an emotion out of an audience through something that people usually ignore (or skip).

Erika Lays Serra Moreira Copywriter at AKQA 🇧🇷 👉What is the piece of work you're most proud of and why?At the beginning of this pandemic, my creative team and I at AKQA São Paulo did the Air Max Clouds. This augmented-reality e-commerce encouraged people to look to the sky and somehow relieves the pressure of these challenging times that we're living with the Coronavirus while we were 100% stuck indoors. We created this experience to inspire the future with some young Brazilian artists that use their voices to change the present. 👉Do you ever feel invisible at work and if so, how do you make yourself more visible? When I started my career as a copywriter in the creative department of a big agency here in Brazil, as a black woman and woman, people often did not even answer my good morning. I had to do exceptional work to be recognized by my colleagues and for my creative chiefs. Furthermore, I feel invisible when I realize that average men always reach leadership positions faster than we women, simply because they earn more and are considered capable just because they are friends with other powerful men. 👉Who do you admire in the industry and why?Keka Morelle, because she showed me that it is possible to conquer everything that white men told us that we could not. 👉What do you love about your job? What I like most about my job is leaving a little of what I believe and consider essential in this world always in the campaigns I am involved in, working together, and mainly inspiring others who are starting through my presence in agencies and in these projects I consider important. And always to be learning from each person in each project.

I've always had a big mouth and have learned to speak up when something doesn't sit right. It has gotten me in trouble a few times but most times it helps me and things move forward 👉Who do you admire in the industry and why?Cindy Gallop, Nancy Vonk, Janet Kestin 👉What do you love about your job? I am actually making a difference and at the table where big decisions are being made.

Victoria Rosselli Art Director @fcbglobal 👉What is the piece of work you're most proud of and why? I would say Greetings from Lockdown. Not only did I work on this with one of my best friends (@robynhfrost ) but we created this on our own terms. No client, no budget, no agency, no demanding creative directors. This was created purely to bring the slightest amount of joy and sense of community to the world during one of the darkest times. 👉Do you ever feel invisible at work and if so, how do you make yourself more visible? I Putting being a woman and a Latina in the creative industry aside, this often depends on the people I work with. There are people who will value the work you do and see you as an essential asset to whatever project you’re working on and are willing to open their mind to someone else’s point of view. On the other hand, there’s people who let their egos get in the way and shut you out from providing creative input. In these moments, it’s easy for my imposter syndrome to kick in. I make myself more visible by continuing to push for good work. I think it’s easy for young creatives to sit back in meetings and let those with more experience determine the creative output. While I respect the hierarchy, a good idea can come from anyone. It’s all about choosing your battles and while you won’t win all of them, a good creative lead will hear you out. 👉Who do you admire in the industry and why? I admire people who are empathetic and have a clear passion and intent for their work. It’s inspiring to see people like Laura Jordan Bambach who truly care about and foster young, diverse talent. It’s those leaders that pave the way and allow young creatives to see a future that isn’t just straight, white and male. 👉What do you love about your job? It’s a blessing and a curse but my brain doesn’t stop. The ADHD definitely has something to do with it but I love being able to explore different routes, the what-ifs, etc. I’m conceptual and visual driven but I keep myself up at night thinking about craft. I find myself at the intersection of art direction and design so I often get wrapped up in the small details of things. But I love it.
