We’re hosting the UK exclusive listening session for the first-ever vinyl pressing of Marc Leclair’s ‘Musique Pour 3 Femmes Enceintes’ — the final stop in a global series organised by LA-based In Sheep’s Clothing Hi-Fi, spanning Tokyo, New York, Portland, Oakland, Montreal and Los Angeles.
The album plays in full across its 72-minute runtime: a meditation on pregnancy, transformation and the slow miracle of new life, originally composed over nearly seven years and first issued on CD via Mutek in 2005. The In Sheep’s Clothing Hi-Fi double LP — pressed at Detroit’s Archer Record Pressing — marks the first time it has appeared on vinyl.
Copies will be available to purchase at Inverted Audio Record Store on the day. One attendee will also be in with the chance of winning an original 2005 MUTEK CD.

Stephen Hitchell’s The Setting Sun has long held cult status among those who knew it — a CD-only release on Echospace that circulated quietly since 2009, passed between the few who’d tracked it down. Field Records have finally brought it to vinyl, remastered, and the format suits it completely.
Recorded without computers — field recordings of Berlin storms and Narita train rides, outboard synths, samplers and analogue hardware — the physicality of its making radiates throughout. Looming harmonic chords, surface noise as expressive texture, subtle distortion deepening the narrative across six glacial pieces. Dub techno is present, but woven through with extraordinary restraint: rhythmic elements dissolving into atmosphere, leaving only tonal traces where percussion once sat. A benchmark restoration of a modern classic.

Hoavi is a teacher of music composition, and the philosophy that underpins his work bleeds into everything he touches. His recent album Architectonics on Peak Oil draws on the interlocking rhythmic traditions of gamelan, approaching form and timbre with the rigour of a composer and the intuition of a producer.
