My journey into hairdressing started very young. I discovered my passion for hair playing with dolls and helping Iya Rebecca out on Saturdays when we went to the braiding kiosk.
However, an early experience at school made me realize how deeply identity and hair are intertwined. I was sent out of class for wearing my hair in neat double puffs, (because my family had just moved houses and hadn’t found a braider in our new area)… this experience sparked a determination to master haircare, not just for myself but for other people, especially Black women, who often had to navigate spaces that didn’t fully understand or appreciate our hair.
While I went on to study law at Swansea University, Wales, United Kingdom and later qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor in Nigeria, hairdressing remained a constant passion. I honed my skills on the side, styling fellow students’ hair, learning from experienced professionals (whilst practicing my 9-5) and slowly exploring what it would take to run my own creative business.
Eventually, I made the intentional decision to pivot fully into haircare and entrepreneurship, combining my technical skills, creative vision, and personal story into a brand that celebrates textured hair while delivering luxury and precision.
Since then, InuDidIt has grown into a recognized name, with milestones including styling hair for features in Vogue Italia, styling for London Fashion Week, music videos, film productions, and editorial campaigns, as well as working with remarkable clients like Nike Makinde, Funke Okubadejo, Adesuwa Etomi, Beverly Naya, Toni Tones amongst others.
Every step has been a blend of passion, persistence, and purpose, I hope you’ll join me as I continue to build the brand with the goal of creating impact both locally and globally.
