One mission. @intrepiddefenseusa traveled to Chicago to conduct an intensive Active Shooter Response Instructor Course focused on building confident, capable leaders who can now return and train the rest of their department. This wasn’t just about shooting. It was about communication, movement, problem solving under pressure, team coordination, medical considerations, and making critical decisions in chaotic environments. These 14 officers put in the work day and night to sharpen their abilities and prepare themselves to pass that knowledge forward to the men and women they serve beside every day. The RAGE series at @intrepiddefenseusa is a great test of skills, from physical and mental, from shooting and moving to props and planning. This match really does test you as an all around shooter. We had some of the toughest pistol shots I’ve ever taken and some really small rifle targets at decent distance with challenging wind calls. It was fun match and I’m proud to have taken 3rd in Competition. I got to shoot with some amazing friends and athletes. Still can’t thank God enough that I get to spend this time with my son.

Sub 3 minute targets ain’t easy, especially when @dillen_easley_3gun goes right before you and says the wind call is hold dead center 😂 RAGE @intrepiddefenseusa was a blast! Great blend of challenging 2 gun stages! I have never shot a match in a plate carrier before, but I will be doing this more often! If you like 2 gun or PCSL style shooting with added distance and difficulty, come out!

Stop shooting targets just because you can see them. One of the biggest separators in stage performance is when you choose to get into your sights. There are times to shoot on the move — ✔️ Close targets ✔️ efficient blending of movements from position to position But there are also times where shooting early actually costs you time: ❌ Targets are far or require confirmation ❌ You’re slowing your feet to make the shot Sometimes the fastest play is to move first, then shoot everything sooner. You’re not just shooting targets… You’re managing time. Close distance faster → get stable sooner → engage more efficiently. High level shooters aren’t asking: “Can I hit this?” They’re asking: “Should I shoot this now, or will it cost me later?”

Most shooters slow down because they treat positions like checkpoints. High-level shooters don’t. They blend positions—flowing through space instead of stopping in it. That means engaging targets when it makes sense for the stage, not just when they first appear. Availability doesn’t equal priority. If you’re planting your feet at every position, you’re leaving time on the table. Learn to: • Enter positions already shooting • Exit positions before you’re “done” • Take targets on the move when it supports the plan • Build a stage plan around efficiency, not comfort Movement isn’t just speed—it’s timing, vision, and commitment.
