The film, Inside (2023), tells the story of a high-end art thief who gets trapped in a New York penthouse after his heist doesn't go as planned. The thief's mind, as well as the architectural space where he is trapped, both slowly deteriorate by the end of the film. Production Designer, Thorsten Sabel, mentioned how they thought "a lot about the work of different Brutalist architects from Gottfried Bohm in Cologne to Oscar Niemeyer in Brazil" to achieve the look of the apartment space. #inside #insidemovie #willemdafoe #vasiliskatsoupis #singlelocation #architecture #onelocation #productiondesign #space #inside2023

For Russian Doll Season 2, research played an important role in guiding the design. Whether it was historical photos of West Germany in the 60s, gritty crime films of the seventies or even photographers such as Nan Golden and Saul Leiter, Production Designer, Diane Lederman, went through an extensive reading list for the second season of the show. Check out our Interview at INTJournal.com. @russiandollnetflix @nlyonne @netflix #netflix #russiandoll #russiandollseason2 #tvshow #natashalyonne #dianelederman #productiondesign #productiondesigner #setdesign

"Natasha (Lyonne) always wanted a water element to be present, an idea galvanized by the prospect of shooting the underground cisterns of Budapest. Ancient and soulful, when we discovered this location, we knew it was the right place to tell this part of our story." For the new Netflix film, Hustle, it was important to stay authentic. Whether it was using non-professional actors in the film or finding locations around the city of Philadelphia, it all had to feel genuine. "One of the most other important parts of the movie were obviously the basketball courts. We wanted there to be an arc to the courts that Bo Cruz played on from old gritty street courts in Spain to larger street courts in Philadelphia and finally to the larger and larger basketball courts in the city."
