Some afterschool staff while listening to Justin Bieber and planning for our end of the year showcase💗 shoutout to Ms. Laura who is not pictured but has been a busy bee helping with the show case 🐝
Going through art work from this semester that was left in different little pockets of the art room. I usually find my favorite pieces the kids have made during this time ❤️
Our winter party was such a beautiful reminder of how much community love surrounds our kids ✨
Thank you to @kutsbykurtis , @nailedbyy_a and @bratty_trends for helping our kiddos feel celebrated and cared for as we step into the new year.
And endless gratitude to our Intersect teachers, who make this little corner of the world so joyful, safe, and full of care every single day.
During reading time, I sometimes pat the kids’ backs when they’re having a hard moment. They’ll ask, “Back pat PLEASE!” — and it’s become one of our little rituals of care.
Today I walked away to help another student, and when I looked back, two kids were gently patting each other’s backs. 💛
Sometimes kids learn from watching how we care for each other. Empathy isn’t taught through lectures, it’s modeled in small, tender moments like this.
Our job isn’t just to keep them safe, it’s to build a community where they know how to make each other feel safe too.
Our early elementary curriculum(K–1) is centered on building emotional intelligence and capacity through intentional art and play-based experiences.
Students are engaging in activities that help them identify emotions, practice empathy, and express themselves in creative ways. By integrating social-emotional learning into our daily routine, we’re helping children develop the self-awareness and interpersonal skills that support long-term well-being and learning.✨
