Kvarken Film Hub is organizing training days in sustainable film production in Umeå, led by producer and sustainability advisor Ronny Fritsche, from 20th August onwards.
🎬Ronny is a film producer who has produced, among other projects, the film Kevlarsjäl (2025), and has extensive experience integrating sustainability practices into both his own and others’ productions. Ronny has been a pioneer in the industry’s green transition and is a highly sought-after lecturer and advisor on sustainable development for production companies, commissioners, and funders.
🎥Over the years, he has developed comprehensive and continuously updated course material that provides both inspiration and practical tools to meet the industry’s requirements. The material is based on hands-on experience, concrete examples, and lessons learned from real productions, combined with factual knowledge, structure, and a deep understanding of the policy frameworks, financing structures, and laws and regulations that shape the conditions for environmental sustainability work in the film and TV industry.

🇫🇮 Nyt se on virallista: Ǩieʹssleirr tulee jälleen! Oummu rââst raaj järjestää kesäleirin kolttasaamelaisille 25.6. –28.6.2026 Nuoriso- ja luontomatkailukeskus Vasatokassa, Inarissa. Ohjelmassa on luvassa muun muassa juurikäsityöpaja, kalastusta ja tietysti kolttasaamelaisten juhla. Ilmoittautuminen aukeaa 7.5.2026. Lisätietoja leiristä ja ohjelmasta julkaistaan pitkin toukokuuta. Lämpimästi tervetuloa, sekä uudet että kokeneet leirikävijät!

Programmet inkluderer blant annet rotarbeidsverksted, fiske og selvfølgelig en skoltesamisk feiring. Påmeldingen åpner 7. mai 2026. 🇬🇧 Now it's official: Ǩiessleirr comes again! Oummu rââst raaj is organizing a summer camp for the Skolt Saami on June 25 –28, 2026 in Inari, Finland, at the Youth and Holiday Centre Vasatokka. The program includes, among other things, a root craft workshop, fishing and, of course, a Skolt Saami celebration. Registration opens on May 7th, 2026. More information about the camp and the program will be published throughout May. A warm welcome, both new and experienced camp participants!
The camp is organized by Oummu rââst raaj – People cross the borders, a joint project of the municipalities of Inari and Sør-Varanger, co-funded by the EU's Interreg Aurora programme.

Förra veckan genomförde Norrbottensmusiken och Arctic Pulse en turné tillsammans med Kajsa Balto med totalt 5 skolkonserter och 1 offentlig konsert i Norrbotten. Bilden och filmerna är från en av konserterna i Jokkmokk.
I Buot eallá – “allt lever” – möts jojk, sånger och berättelser med rötter i samisk tradition. Under veckan fick elever och publik ta del av musik som öppnade för både lyssnande, reflektion och nyfikenhet.

Arctic Pulse Producers Network – Oulu
Last week, around 80 producers and music professionals from northern Sweden, Finland and Norway gathered in Oulu to explore the future of Arctic music.
Over three days, we combined working sessions and industry talks with live showcases across the city — connecting conversations during the day with music at night. Artists included, among others, Katarina Barruk, Kaipu, South of Savoy and performances at the Frozen People festival on the sea ice in Nallikari.
The aim is clear: to strengthen east–west cross-border cooperation and build long-term networks between cultural professionals across Sweden, Finland and Norway in the Arctic region.
Thank you to Oulu2026 and Music x Media for the collaboration, and to all speakers, artists and participants who contributed to these three days.
Cross-border collaboration is not an option for the Arctic — it is a necessity.
