Interluxe Distribution proudly presents ID016: Demolition by Real Men Cry @realmencryonline
Some records really signify a place and time–Demolition is one of them. It was Summer 2025, and Main Era was wrapping up our year living under one roof in Allston. I think we could all feel that it was the end of an era–Maeve was moving back to Rhode Island in the fall, Jack and Willie were moving to Brighton, and I was moving to the tourist trap. We were all seeing a lot of Ziggy then as well, who was soon to move back home to Texas before eventually making their way back east.
Demolition feels like a time capsule for Maeve and Ziggy’s year of shared postcollegiate languor–that rhythm that everyone who stays in Boston after graduating is all-too-familiar with. Suddenly half your friends have moved back home or transitioned to NYC, LA, or Nashville, and you start feeling a little long in the tooth. Boston feels different after you graduate, and you start to see the city for what it is, with all the flowers and the warts as you make a conscious choice to stay, no longer bound by classrooms. I think most people that choose to stay do so for the people–the community here is really special. I think Maeve and Ziggy’s shared company is a big part of what kept them in Boston as long as they were there, and you can feel it in the music.
When Maeve and Ziggy first asked me if I would be interested in engineering their album, I was beyond stoked. I had just finished recording signsthatmockmeasigo, and was feeling ambitious to get more advanced with my new yamaha 8-track. Up to that point I had been just using an sm57 for everything, so I was excited to get a more complete capture of music on tape with some of the equipment that Main Era had accumulated for recording IV of Wands. As I started listening to them perform their songs getting ready to record, I was struck by how effortlessly it seemed to come together for them–they just spent so much time together that the chemistry was palpable in the room. It felt like they were tight without even trying, and I couldn’t wait to put the songs on tape. They made my job super easy, doing everything in 1 or 2 takes. [continued]
Very happy to welcome back the Jules band for their second album: “I’m Touching Everything That Feels Alive”, ID017. Besides a brief drunken encounter after a show at The Broadway in January, I haven’t been able to chat with Jules much since they made their voyage to New York last year. I wanted to ask how the move had gone, how they were adjusting to the city, how they were holding up, but they needed to go to bed and I needed to get a bodega sandwich. Luckily though, this album exists.
A lot has happened since TUNG, and through these 9 songs we are offered a glimpse into this beautiful period of transformation for the band. Sonically, ITETFA is the clearest we’ve heard Jules. The song structures are more complex and varied, the tones are heavier, Jules’ lyrics are more direct and vivid. We can hear the band sort through all the items they’ve been carrying so far, and decide what’s worth keeping moving forward. We are thrown right into the crucible, and these songs preserve the heat and energy of a group of young creatives going through the intense personal change of their young adulthood. Then again, do we ever really change, or do we just remember who we’ve been the whole time?
Hi everybody!
after months of procrastination, i mean progress, on getting orders out for signsthatmockmeasigo, im proud to say that all pending orders have been shipped and we were able to make a $179 donation to Allston-Brighton LUCE hub.
Thanks to everyone that bought a tape for this fundraiser! There are still some tapes and CDs left if you missed it the first time around.
P.S. today is Bandcamp friday! Please browse the Interluxe Distribution catalogue and consider making a purchase from our roster (we are deep in the hole, and our original plan of staying afloat with scratchers isn't panning out as expected)
We are very honored to continue our partnership with Wulfer and announce their new body of work, “I Love My TV”, ID014.
This album is a wonderful refinement on many of the sounds we came to love in Wulfer’s self-titled debut, developing the vision with more focus and potency. It’s a bittersweet listening experience; “I Love My TV” feels like a chronology of all that’s changed over the last couple of years. It sounds like your old friends moving to New York, it sounds like those sweaty basements, singing into an SM57 as it zaps your lips. It sounds like lonely nights in your Allston apartment, searching for a riff on the guitar to show your bandmates. This is a happy-sad album that illuminates Ash’s innate ability to craft worlds, and is a one-on-one conversation with her creative genius.
“I Love My TV” is a gentle mist at the crest of a massive wave. It encourages the listener to soften their gaze, to reflect on all that has led them to this very moment. You are exactly where you need to be, and with this realization comes freedom and rapture. Plus, it was mixed by one of our favorite people, @camwormy ! It’s a pleasure to produce some tapes for this one, and they are now available on our Bandcamp, or directly from the artist.
All the best,
ID.
Here it is, ID015: Sallow Friend - devil worship pts 1 and 2. It cannot be understated just how much good music lurks beneath the surface of Connecticut’s DIY scene. It all started when we played Hamden’s “The Shop” (RIP) on tour last summer. It was a fucked up day of travel and we entered this relatively unassuming DIY studio off the main road running on the fumes of a few soggy uncrustables and warm yerba mate. When New Haven sweethearts, Wally, took the stage it was like a factory reset, and my heart was immediately filled with joy and energy seeing this completely unfamiliar scene of musicians enter their element. It was cemented when heavy hitters, Snowpiler, took the stage. Just another unbelievable band you must see live if you get the chance. After the dust had settled I wandered around the studio dazed and muttering, “I had no idea the bands here were so good” to anyone that would listen. One line kept coming up in conversation with the locals: “you gotta check out Sallow Friend, they’re sick”. Ok fine, I’ll do that.
Sallow Friend is more than sick. They are the kind of playful genius that leaves you stunned, giggling and confused how they could have possibly written that. It’s very catchy guitar rock that twists and turns through each measure, and at times almost feels like an inside joke of such complexity that you’ll never truly understand. When you take a step back and see the whole picture though, it truly is just excellent, original music crafted by the hands of curious and smart creatives that aren’t afraid to show people just how much they love to write songs. What’s really special about this release is that it includes both Sallow Friend’s first and second EP, which offers the listener a rare chance to understand where they started, and where they’re heading.
We finally got to play with these cats last weekend and they are more incredible live, and even sillier. It’s good music for mind expansion, and demonstrates just how much you can do with a conventional rock setup and minimal effects. Certainly will be inspiring the next Main Era record, that’s for sure. Tapes are available on our bandcamp or directly through the artist now!

Interluxe Distribution is proud to present ID011, SLUG by Muzak on tape. Buy it today on our bandcamp, or better yet, catch the band on tour NOW and get one from them in-person. Boston heads can catch them at OBs on Monday the 24th–see u there!
I remember the first time I saw Evan Cieplik perform circa 2023 at the silhouette lounge on a random shitty monday–he absolutely blew my mind. We were approaching peak shoegaze maximalist pedalboard frenzy in Allston, or at least, that’s how it felt in the circles we were in. By contrast, Evan had a single fuzzface as his rig, and that fact alone caused me to lean in and pay attention, cuz his tone was absolutely godly–sometimes, less is more.
That image has become a microcosm for how I think about Evan, Muzak, and the greater allston cowpunk fuzzy folky outlaw scene that bubbled up around that time (matt, dom, foxy, chase allardice expanded cinematic universe et cetera – iykyk). It’s about stripping things down, simplifying, and letting go of the allure of elaborate rigs and chasing high-fidelity recordings that can distract younger musicians from the only thing that should really matter: the songs!
This is a beautiful lo-fi record. Evan's meat-and-potatoes compositions allow the rest of the band to shine as Evan's vocals take center stage. He lets you into his world, and his lyrics feel like reading diary entries as he effortlessly oscillates between sharp quips and heartfelt inner thoughts.
This record really shines because the band takes the work extremely seriously without sweating the unnecessary details and getting bogged down–it’s fast, and you can feel the urgency all the way on the other end as the listener. The band doesn’t take itself too seriously (fuck elvis, break his fucking pelvis) which adds to the charming image that forms in your mind as you listen–some extremely talented goofballs giving it their all for 30 minutes of raw rock and roll delivered to your ears by way of a tascam 388–what’s better than that?
It is with great pleasure that we present to you ID010, Microgoblet’s debut “Nanoarchitecture”.
The first time we played with Microgoblet in Philly last year, it was made immediately clear that this 3-piece operates in a world of their own design. It was difficult at first to even process what was unfolding before us. It felt like lightning in a bottle: Adam’s guitar revving like a miniature dirt bike, Miles’ razor sharp polyrhythms slicing through Luke’s strikingly catchy bass lines. It sounded like nothing we’ve ever heard before, and yet was everything we already loved. Microgoblet is making future music.
It all started to click after talking with them after their set. I don’t think I’ve ever met a group with such an encyclopedic knowledge of music. Any time I mentioned literally any band they would fire back immediately with “oh but dude have you heard [some obscure side project of said artist that only exists as a singular YouTube video].” For that I am eternally grateful, Microgoblet has put us onto some incredible stuff.
It’s obvious this band is absolutely in love with music, and I now understand their sound as 3 truly talented individuals chomping at the bit to show you just how much they love it. It’s a beautiful thing, and on record Adam’s vocals take center stage, imbuing the listener with an overwhelming amount of catchy hooks and melodies to chew on. We love this band a ton and it means a lot that they trusted us to make some tapes for them. Available now on our bandcamp or directly from the band.

ID008, Carpet Floor’s debut self titled EP is out now! We met Dan Zadorozhny, guitarist and vocalist of the group, about two years ago on our first trip to Philadelphia. He graciously offered to host us without ever meeting in person. At first, we were all convinced that we blew it and that he didn’t like us, but we realized after spending some time together that Dan is a man of few words. A few important words. Every time he spoke, we all shut the fuck up and listened, and found him to be an incredibly kind, insightful and genuine dude. As it turns out, we’d end up staying with him every single time we passed through Philly. He’s the first person we reach out to whenever we’re in town, and is responsible for showing us some phenomenal DIY rock music coming out of the city. Carpet Floor is absolutely one of these bands.
We had the pleasure of playing with them last year, and now the even greater pleasure of releasing their first EP on tape. Carpet Floor is an earnest and intimate declaration of purpose. Its raw, angular, and powerful guitar music that doesn’t hesitate to innovate upon the genre. Drew Walker and Mike Gallagher comprise the rhythm section, and are a dynamic and intentional foundation, leading us down the many twists and turns of this EP without question. Dan’s vocals support this thesis, directly addressing the audience with energy and haste. Carpet Floor is an important band because their music is a direct expression of themselves, without any filler. It’s exactly what its supposed to be, and proceeds with focus and clarity. We’re honored to produce some physical media for them, which is available now via our Bandcamp or directly from the artist.
ID009: “Terror Absolute” by Gloomlurker.
This debut three-song epic is not for the faint of heart. It’s a crushing and emotionally overwhelming sonic experience that calls for repeated listening. A love letter to heavy music in all its forms, Terror Absolute seamlessly combines countless subgenres into something new and original.
Like all our favorite bands, Gloomlurker honors the past and illuminates the future. This EP reminds us that dark and heavy music is essential for capturing all facets of the human experience - grief, anger, catharsis, even hope - and shows us that there are still infinite ways to take what we love and reshape it into something meaningful and inspiring.
Within this labyrinth, you’ll find the sonic assault of Connor Dunbar’s black metal-esque blast beats, Jess Lom’s doom riffs proceeding with tectonic force, gothic post-metal clean guitar shrouded in delay, Jess’s guttural, horrifying screams, and so much more. It’s a ornately crafted journey through all that is good (and fantastically evil) about metal. Now, for the first time, it’s available in physical form.
Gloomlurker tapes are now available on our Bandcamp, or directly through the band.
