Wie in niets gelooft, kan alles zijn. 🃏✨ In een wereld die steeds chaotischer wordt, keert een legende terug: Tijl Uilenspiegel. De beruchte middeleeuwse nar, anarchist en vrijheidsstrijder die al eeuwenlang de macht uitdaagt met humor en ontregeling. Maar wat gebeurt er als de grap niet langer de waarheid onthult, maar de realiteit naar de hand zet? In deze tijd van memes, complottheorieën en populisme onderzoeken we hoe Uilenspiegel overleeft in de 21ste eeuw. Is de nar nog wel een buitenstaander, of is hij inmiddels onderdeel geworden van het systeem dat hij bespot? 🤔 Tijdens deze residentie dissecteren we Tijl via: 🎼 Nieuwe composities geïnspireerd op Richard Strauss en eeuwenoude volksverhalen. 🎪 Een gelaagd samenspel van muziek, circus en dans. 🎭 Een reflectie op fake news, activisme en de dunne grens tussen satire en manipulatie. Uilenspiegel past zich moeiteloos aan. Hij doorprikt de leugen en kneedt de waarheid — tot we plots zelf het doelwit worden. Over the past months, @intercontinental.ensemble has performed their chamber opera The Hidden Page, a creation that brings the personal drama of Alma Mahler to life, in venues all over the Netherlands. With music by Ernst Spyckerelle, @elevental as Alma, @elisabeth.hetherington as her daughter Manon Gropius, @geosztojanov as Johannes Hollnsteiner and @baritonberend as Gustav Mahler. Next week they will return to the stage to tell Alma's story one last time, on January 28th at @wilminktheater in Enschede.
