May 9, 2026 is officially Spend Like It Matters Saturday!
WHEREAS, Intentionalist is a Seattle-based social enterprise that makes it easy to discover, connect with, and support Main Street brick-and-mortar small businesses owned by women, people of color, indigenous people, veterans, disabled people, families, and members of the LGBTQ community; and
WHEREAS, Intentionalist serves as a trusted resource and activation platform benefiting thousands of small businesses throughout the Greater Seattle region and beyond; and
WHEREAS, Intentionalist relentlessly champions small businesses as essential community infrastructure and the foundation upon which strong, equitable, and connected communities are built; and
WHEREAS, Intentionalist partners with Seattle companies, community-based organizations, and professional sports teams including the Seattle Storm, Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Reign, Seattle Sounders, Seattle Mariners, Seattle Torrent, and Seattle Kraken to amplify and celebrate local small businesses; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seattle recognizes that small, locally owned businesses create jobs, foster cultural richness, anchor our neighborhoods, and reflect the diversity that makes Seattle a vibrant place to live, work, and gather; and
WHEREAS, Intentionalist is celebrating eight years of impact by encouraging the Greater Seattle community to eat, drink, and shop at the small businesses at the heart of our communities; and
WHEREAS, when we Spend Like It Matters at local small businesses, we invest in the people, places, and stories that define our city;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Katie B. Wilson, Mayor of the City of Seattle, do hereby proclaim May 9, 2026, to be
