“You have a band being held to a higher moral account than politicians who are ignoring international law.”

Today is my adored sister Anne’s anniversary - she died aged 33 from cancer. Hard to believe it’s 30 yrs. This is my favourite photo of us both, wrecked new mums holding our baby daughters. The only happy part of all of this is that those two little cousins are now best friends ❤️
So sad to hear that wonderful Packy Jim McGrath has left this world and gone to Heaven - one of the gentlest most beautiful men I have ever interviewed. An absolute privilege. When we spoke in 2013 he had no electricity or running water in his isolated home.
I chose this interview I did with Packy Jim for Prime Time about loneliness and rural isolation with ace exec producer @tapeterman8 as one of my all time favourite interviews in my recent Memoir.
Codladh sámh Packy Jim.
Such a joy to catch up with the amazing writing duo @emerthescreamer & @sarahjaybee of ‘Aisling’ fame as they release their brilliant new book ‘Our Deadly Summer’ - they’re a tonic! And it’s a fab book. Tune in to catch our conversation this coming Sunday on @rteradio1 Sunday with Miriam 10am ✨
Every now and then as a broadcast journalist you get to do a story that means a lot to you, hits you harder and deeper than other stories - the story I filmed last night for Prime Time on @rteone about the desperate need for the regeneration of the Oliver Bond flats complex in inner city Dublin was one of those .
As a mother I met other mothers just trying to raise their children in such challenging circumstances and it upset me. I really feel that by shining a light, as we did here, on areas and aspects of our society that are rarely seen and too often ignored, journalism can and does make a difference.
I truly hope that our Prime Time film might help in some small way to ease the dire situation and the lives of all the wonderful people in Oliver Bond by us highlighting the issues and talking to the residents about what they need.
Huge thanks to the powerhouse that is @gayle_culla_doyler who organised all of the amazing access , to @lesley_byrne_socdem for her time and to Chloe Hanlon who spoke so openly and honestly to us on TV about her family’s chronic living conditions.
Watch it back please on @rteplayer if you didn’t see last nights Prime Time.
I have been a fan of @johnnylogan_official forever so I was thrilled to just spend time with him - he came in and sang (his voice is as amazing as ever) and chatted to everyone. You know you’ve a proper big star in studio when people from all over the building came into watch Johnny perform. So do meet your heroes ✨
Tune in this coming Sunday morning to @rteradio1 Sunday with Miriam 10am - all brilliantly produced and arranged by our fab series producer @nifhlod ✨
"The conditions that we've been forced to live in for the last three years are absolutely dire."
Miriam O'Callaghan visited Dublin's Oliver Bond flats and spoke to residents about their living conditions.
This week, the Department of Housing said it could no longer support Dublin City Council's regeneration plans for the complex, saying they did not represent value for money.

It was an honour today to film for Prime Time @rteone in Oliver Bond flats, a Dublin 1936 complex the residents say is desperately in need of regeneration - huge thanks to the powerhouse that is @gayle_culla_doyler who took time out from her busy working day to show us around and bring us in to view the flats. Gayles’s family has lived in Oliver Bond for generations.
Watch Prime Time tomorrow night 9.35 @rteone to see the film and the Housing Minister James Browne will be doing an interview in response.
"People inside the Eurovision fandom have been voicing this dissent to Israel's participation for quite a long time."
RTÉ is one of five broadcasters boycotting this year's Eurovision Song Contest due to Israel's participation.
