Thursday Feb. 12th the world lost a great artist and friend, Mel Bochner. When I started at Two Palms in 2007 Mel stood out as an archetypal brilliant thinker, a no-nonsense New Yorker who saw the world just as it was, unfiltered. No one had better art world stories than Mel. He lived through the greatest art transformation in America in the 60s/70s and gathered fantastic anecdotes, both funny and wise. He was always expressly appreciative, caring and excited to be with our team. Our partnership was one that could have gone on forever because the ideas were endless. I learned so much from Mel and will forever be reminded of him. I am incredibly grateful for the 18 years I got to work for him and to Two Palms for entrusting me with leading his team. Words just don’t describe how much love and joy I’ve had along the way ❤️
