While this account is being retired, the publication’s legacy and historical record endure. We’re grateful to everyone who followed, shared, and contributed to these stories over the years.
At today’s 60th anniversary of #ForeignAffairs Day, @deputysecstate recognized retirees whose efforts have bolstered @statedept ’s important work, and he honored those who made the ultimate sacrifice while advancing #diplomacy in service of the #UnitedStates.
State Magazine joined @usembassybahrain employees and family members to participate in a casualty response training. The training included modules on trauma response, triage, and the movement and transport of casualties. It culminated in a simulated crisis event exercise. State Magazine recently welcomed a cohort of Department HR professionals into the office for a primer on the publication’s history and a walkthrough of the updated production studio. This month, State Magazine celebrates its 78th anniversary as @statedept ’s flagship publication, documenting and sharing the work of dedicated Foreign and Civil servants and local staff who leverage #diplomacy to advance American #foreignpolicy around the globe.
In February, Secretary of State Marco Rubio made his first official trip abroad to Panama, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic. This selection of countries underscores the importance of increased U.S. attention on Western Hemisphere Affairs to make America safer, stronger, and more prosperous.
