My good mate Chris Jatoft 🫶🏼
I first met Chris at KCDC skate shop in Brooklyn, New York on a wet afternoon in May 2010. He was shredding the mini ramp and had to kill time as he was tagging along on his dad’s business trip. We exchanged contact details and kept in touch over the years, proceeding to meet up again in 2016 and 2019 in his hometown of San Francisco.
In April he came and joined me in Los Angeles for 48 hours and we had a blast. Just hanging out and catching up over music, beers and our mutual love of skateboarding.
The skating in this post was filmed at JKwon (or within 5 blocks of there) and I believe the massive melon grab over the gap is an NBD.

Growing up i never really felt like I fit well with the older cats in my atmosphere. But this man right here ALWAYS made me feel like I was worth something. Whether it was tough love at the skatepark or direct love for almost every birthday I've ever had after we met. He was always there saying, "Happy Birthday young OG, Hope you are well" ... from sessions in the back of Sun Valley mall to creek park and many others.. Nick was always a light...one that shined so bright it could blind you with confusion why he had so much love for his atmosphere and people around him. He bled skateboarding and put it before everything, something we always shared and acknowledged about each other. No matter what the deal, skateboarding ALWAYS came first. He was one of the realest ones to ever do it. Drama (even if present) was always put last and discussed later.
I'll never forever the impact you've made on me and many others. I didn't know what to say before I wrote this but this just spilled out... thank you Nick, for everything. Your smile, your laughter, your love for your people.....and everyone around you. You were taken too soon. But you will never be forgotten. Your legacy lives on and your influence will forever make this world a better place.
Thanks for being you, and for all the life you put into those around you. I'm forever grateful for the times we shared. Rest in peace my friend 🕊❤️
