Recently I've become a published author once again, though instead of writing about iron and sodium complexes 🧪 in scientific journals, the topics have been a little different.
After @through.the.house featured in Issue 1 of the coolest magazine to come out of Glasgow - @sandweegies 🥪 - I submitted an article for Issue 2 reminiscing about leaving the lab to go get morning rolls during my PhD at Strathclyde. Super nice to see it all in print and know it's being read around the world 🌎
Also wrote a small piece for @underdog.zine , a great little DIY project headed by @astabarista_ which celebrates and promotes the absolutely thriving Scottish independent specialty coffee scene 🏴 ☕ A short piece on how music and sound shape the coffee shop experience.
You'll find both of these waiting to be read with a flat white on the tables at @through.the.house + copies of @sandweegies Issue 2 on sale ✌️
RANDOM RHYTHMS
Buzzing to have been asked by @_randomrhythms (2 of the absolute soundest people around) to play at their second dance party. Their whole concept centres around bringing people together to dance in, and to celebrate Glasgow’s unique heritage spaces.
Following a successful debut party last year West Brewery headlined by the formidable @austinato , this Saturday the RR crew are taking over The Savings Bank. Originally a place setup for the working class of Glasgow to safely deposit their wages, it's been a notorious gambling den, a raucous Greek restaurant and now serves as an architecturally and historically impressive events space, perfect for dancing under the dome.
Honoured to be playing some house grooves alongside two @the_berkeley_suite legends - @danielhive bringing that disco goodness and @singular.sounds taking things into a deeper, heavier direction.
Still some advanced tickets (link in bio) - go go go!

Introducing @through.the.house , our third featured sandwich cafe in Sandweegies issue 01.
Through the House is a music-focused specialty coffee shop located at Trongate - brewing up some of the UK and Europe’s best roasters on filter and espresso. They regularly host events in the space, ranging from live DJs spinning vinyl to chill yoga mornings. Alongside a selection of pastries, donuts and cakes they serve a small but flavour-packed menu of freshly made sandwiches.
