Now that the Artemis II crew is on the way, I thought it’d be fun to use the carousel function to show just how far they’re going! Huge Thank You to the incredibly knowledgeable @amyshirateitel for her help contributing some excellent extra info and facts, and for also double-checking my work! I’ve wanted to draw a scale drawing of the Earth and the Moon distance for ages, so I should also thank @nasa and @nasaartemis for providing a very good reason to finally go and draw it! Enjoy!
It’s finally here! The remixed and revamped Dinner Party comic! And in even more exciting news - I’ve finally turned this one into an absurdly long print that you can now buy! (Shop link in bio!)
Anyway, enjoy - and obviously feel free to tag anyone you recognise! 😅
Revisiting this favourite and thought I’d add in an extra slide! Also a shout out to @bremond__ for the best shower song ever. EDIT: Now available as a poster! See shop.
A decade ago, Chaz Hutton was working in an open-plan architecture office in London, replying to his mates’ group chat with hand-drawn Post-it notes instead of typed messages.
His friends told him to post his drawings on Instagram – jokingly dubbing it @instachaaz a placeholder until he came up with something better. He never did.
A decade, a thousand comics, a book, and 260K followers later, Chaz talked to me in this week’s For Starters about his creative career, navigating social algorithms, his favourite books, and his latest piece – an epic 20-slide Instagram carousel that shows the distance from the Earth to the moon.

I did a two hour ‘date night’ pottery lesson last week and it was SO FUN, but I can now confidently put pottery on my long and burgeoning list of “cool things I quite enjoyed the idea of being miraculously amazing at despite never having done it and that actually, no, sorry, you’re going to have to practice for years to be even vaguely competent at it”
It’s FINALLY HERE! The entire Earth to Moon illustration in one big 2.9m (9.5ft!) poster! Might be the hardest poster to photograph ever, but managed to fit it all in one frame eventually! It’s now available to buy up on the shop! (Link in bio, or head to Instachaaz.shop !)
Reminding myself of this a lot as I put together a bunch of cartoons for a big art exhibition that has a lot of acrylic and oil on the list of artworks. 😅
German Words I Love. (A slightly niche one for your Sunday!) This was one I did for an exhibition in Berlin a little while back, and is largely an ode to my complete and utter failure to learn German, despite having had a lot of fun trying.
I’ve also realised I produced a bunch of A4 signed prints of this and never put them up on the shop - UNTIL NOW! (So, do go get yourself a copy!)
Something slightly different today. Here’s a few t-shirt designs I did a while back which I still really love. You can still order these on the shop!
It’s kinda hard doing a comic for a t-shirt, because ideally you don’t want people to have to stop and read a whole thing, and depending on complexity, it tends to not really look like anything from a distance - so the idea here was to create a big bold graphic and then the cartoon stick figure would act as a little punchline that you’d only catch closer up.
