Long out of print and well-deserving of a reprint, these two lavish hardcover volumes collected the entirety of Doug Moench & Kelley Jonesā run on the āBatmanā title from the mid-to-late-nineties, throughout which they dispensed with the multi-part sagas that had come before and focussed on telling shorter (though no less impressive) stories, with a spooky and surreal edge, crafting one of the definitive Batman runs in the process. #batman #dc #dccomics

Released just before Christmas, the first āBirds of Preyā omnibus collects over 30 issues from Gail Simone and Ed Benesā iconic run on the title, during which they built on the foundations Chuck Dixon laid, taking Barbara Gordon, Black Canary & the Huntress to even greater prominence in the DC universe. The issues hold up surprisingly well after two decades, and while moments can be carbon dated to the early-2000ās, they remain adrenaline-filled romps, packed with humour and heart, not to mention Benesā artwork, which remains nothing short of astonishing. #dc #batman #dccomics #batgirl
