Operating at the nanoscale, the system demonstrates how biological components can function as active sensing elements. The fluorescent proteins respond to external stimuli, producing visible signals while simultaneously influencing electronic behaviour. Project Altar by @protoeditions.xyz is a sculptural object that translates the idea of ritual into a contemporary, time-based experience. Conceived as a hybrid between a timekeeping device and a contemplative artefact, it invites focused attention through a programmed sequence of light and sound activated by touch. The object is defined by a minimal, monolithic form that references archetypal ceremonial structures while remaining open in interpretation. Its geometry and material presence convey stability and permanence, creating a clear focal point within a space. Interaction is direct and tactile, initiating a timed cycle that unfolds through gradual changes in illumination and subtle audio cues. The experience is structured around duration and sensory progression. Light intensity shifts over time, accompanied by calibrated sound, shaping a contained interval for concentration. The controlled sequence establishes a rhythm that encourages awareness of time passing, framed through a physical object rather than an abstract interface. By embedding a guided experience within a static form, the piece connects physical interaction with perceptual focus. In a world where anything can be faked, how do we establish trust?   @modem.works in partnership with Swiss design studio @retinaa.ch introduces Quartz — a ring-based ledger designed to prove personhood in the age of AI.   As societies scale, trust becomes abstract. What once relied on physical presence — a handshake, a bow, eye contact — is now mediated by code. Deepfakes, voice clones, and AI-generated spoofs are cheap and accessible. A familiar voice is no longer proof.   Quartz combines modern cryptography with one of the oldest technologies of trust: meeting in person.   Each ring stores cryptographic keys on-device and pairs to its owner using finger-vein biometrics. No raw biometric data leaves the ring.   When two people meet and shake hands, the rings connect via NFC to generate a unique Shared Secret — a cryptographic bond specific to that relationship.   Verification happens through zero-knowledge proof. No passwords are transmitted. The ring confirms it is being worn by its rightful owner through a live pulse check.   Each device also contains a naturally formed quartz stone from the Swiss Alps, recorded as a unique digital certificate.   By combining physical presence with digital security Quartz is a system designed to make trust tangible again. @innernetworks

The @clickskeys Communicator is a communication-centric device designed around tactile interaction and the reintroduction of productive friction. Expanding on the foundation of Clicks, which began with the standalone keyboard, the Communicator extends a hardware-first philosophy into a dedicated mobile system.   At its core, the device explores the value of analogue experience within contemporary digital communication. Physical controls and tactile feedback shift interaction away from purely touch-based immediacy, reintroducing friction as a functional design feature rather than a limitation. This approach prioritises accuracy, intentionality, and cognitive engagement, supporting more considered forms of messaging and correspondence.   Influenced by the lineage of communication tools historically associated with BlackBerry, the Communicator’s hardware and software system is structured specifically around responsiveness, clarity and sustained interaction.   Key hardware decisions reinforce autonomy and functional longevity. The headphone jack maintains compatibility with wired audio systems, supporting uninterrupted listening without adapters or wireless dependency. The SD card slot introduces removable storage, providing direct user control over their data management.   Rather than competing through feature density, the Clicks Communicator operates as a focused communication tool. It functions as either a complementary device alongside a primary smartphone, supporting structured, distraction-reduced workflows, or as a standalone replacement for users seeking a more deliberate, friction-aware interaction model.   @innernetworks

From @nikbentelstudio the Tati Fête Bag project transforms the handbag as a functional audio device. The release consists of two electronic handbags: a Speaker Bag with an integrated Bluetooth sound system and a Mixer Bag featuring live audio mixing controls.   Each piece is constructed from pacrylic with exposed electronic components, positioning circuitry and hardware as visible design elements rather than concealed features — speaking to the increased desire for more tangible and playful interactions with tech.   The Speaker Bag operates as a portable playback system, while the Mixer Bag provides multichannel input and real-time sound manipulation. Used together, the bags function as a compact mobile DJ setup. 🎧🎧🎧   @innernetworks

@aircompany @tomorrowbureau Partnering with @aircompany for the launch of their AIR&D Project, @tomorrowbureau have created a visual and innovation research series exploring how their bespoke rocket-fuel technology could function on Mars.   To create the rocket-fuel, AIRCO captures CO2 from industrial emission sources and directly from the atmosphere, where it becomes a resource as opposed to waste. They use a proprietary technology that mimics photosynthesis, combining the captured CO2 with green hydrogen to create alcohols, which are then converted into fuel, vodka, and other products.   The research film follows a day-in-the-life of a fuel-system operator on the Martian surface, integrating a speculative operator helmet designed by Tomorrow Bureau . The studio also conceptualised the fuel capsule itself, designed to store and transport AIRMADE® Rocket Fuel in harsh, off-world environments. @innernetworks

Through life-like, bio-inspired forms, the line between the living and the mechanical dissolves, redefining our relationship with technology as intimate and interdependent. At the same time, the renewed appetite for physical media and analogue interaction suggests an alternative future taking shape. Heightened awareness of data exposure, privacy and algorithmic control is driving a return to nostalgic machines, valued as intentional tools rather than invisible systems.   Together, these opposing impulses reveal a future shaped by both immersion and restraint, where technology is either seamlessly embedded or consciously removed. Oloris by @pitch_studios and @gentle.systems 🪻 “Across centuries of technological progress, scent has remained the least represented sense. Photography gave structure to vision, recording transformed sound, and haptics allowed touch to enter the digital world. Smell stayed outside that frame—too chemical, too bound to emotion, too difficult to measure. Attempts to capture it, from nineteenth-century scent organs to modern electronic noses, have struggled to create convincing results. Translating smell always involves translating feeling, a process without fixed measure.” Oloris is a speculative concept that interprets scent profiles into visual data — movement, colour and texture —representing the living atmosphere of the surrounding air. Each scent generates a data signature linking chemical identity with emotional tone. The system maps that signature to visual behaviour—continuous shifts in light, motion, and density—offering a direct way to perceive what the air contains. Cognitive Bloom is a domestic AI that lives in your home, acting more like a plant or lamp than a device. The interface is structured as a living garden system using natural environments to represent mental well-being overtime. The garden acts as a long-term landscape, it’s growth, decay and seasonal change reflect ongoing patterns in well-being rather than momentary states. Elements such as budding, flowering or yellowing foliage signal areas of balance or strain, encouraging slow observation and interpretation rather than immediate response. Alongside this, the pond functions as a space for short-term reflection. It captures more immediate emotional states and moments of checking in, creating gentle ripples or surface changes that respond to recent input. Where the garden evolves gradually, the pond is more responsive — offering a quieter, temporal view of the present. Together the garden and pond separate long-term well-being from short-term emotion, allowing both to exist without collapsing them into metrics or alert. Cyborg theory is transforming the way we excavate the past. Through digital tools like avatars, motion capture and embodied technologies, cyborg archaeology can open new methods of reimagining sociological and historical narratives of the past. By introducing gestures, glitches and new forms of presence in archaeological practices, the narrow ideals and narratives marked in history can be shifted and recreated through a new lens. Auria Harvey’s PROPHECY uses motion-mapping technology to turn her own body into a conduit, channelling the movements of the prophets that appear in the installation’s second chamber. Projected around the room, the figures portray biblical stories filtered through a contemporary body. They feel present and absent at once, their forms like ghosts against the screen – messengers trapped at the threshold. “They feel like they’re in the room with you, but not. They’re inhabiting their own world, but that world is in there somewhere. Infinite Minerals is a project by @danhprt exploring the idea of undiscovered minerals and crystals. Each Infinite Mineral is built using a seed system that constantly changes over time, allowing its owner to hold a completely unique artefact that can never be generated again. Through careful consideration, @danhprt has created a system of generation by which the probabilities and traits of these materials create an ecosystem of minerals that allows room for rare textures and forms to exist. Infinite Materials are available to mint on Foundation as part of a generative drop. Upon minting each collector will receive an Infinite Mineral selected at random via smart contract until the collection is complete. @danhprt @innernetworks
