Delighted to share that my short fiction “pigeons on my windowsill” (link in bio) is now published in @afreada , and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Big thanks to Nancy and @chideraa_ikeakaenyi for the amazing collaboration towards this publication.
To my dear readers. I hope that when you see a bird, or some birds, that you find somewhat interesting, you remember Malcolm and Martha.
Ps, the last picture is a hand mirror @francisjide got me shortly after I’d written this story. He saw it on sale, and it felt like the most beautiful coincidence ever. Good things happen.
Cheers to more writing and living. 🐦⬛

"I get up from bed for the first time in twenty-something hours. Obvious from the sinkhole I leave behind. The foul odour of dried sweat and stale urine force through my nostrils, smothering. Louvres are shut behind the dusty curtain. Dustbin is overflowing, mostly empty Chicken Republic packs and Sprite cans. A heap of unwashed plates in the sink..."

Happy to share that my short story “Salvation Street” is published in the 10th issue of Jay Lit which was launched last night. Special thanks to Aliyah and Jo for their meticulous insight on the Hausa language incorporated and for Yu-Mei who facilitated the amazing workshop where my classmates shared generous feedback on it. Indeed, it takes a village. I’m especially impressed by how well this thoughtfully-selected photo depicts the whirlwind that is Gran.

Was at The Writers Picnic yesterday at Jameson Yard in collaboration with Embassy of Ireland & Friends of Ireland, and I read an excerpt from my unpublished short story, “What’s Wrong with Sri Lanka?” Lots of fun and great conversations.
My short story “A Hundred Yards of Love” is out now in Akpata Mag’s STIRRED issue. This story examines the nature of grief and longing. It explores philosophies such as impermanence, the fluidity of time and memory, and the search for meaning against all odds. Grateful to @yumei.balasingamchow and all my classmates from the Grub Street short fiction workshop that helped bring this piece to fruition. I hope the universe is kind to your dreams as well. Please, find the link in my bio.
