Side note: At first this started off by my homie Jimel telling me that I should write something to this while we were in the car just listening to music. The raw emotion and how beautiful Kadhja’s vocals are made me feel emotional. So two days after I wrote this for a Car Chronicles and ended up recording it. Lately, I’ve been going through my own battles with certain things throughout life. Adulting is a bad mf lol. The things that I may be going through is not permanent. It is temporary. Had to realize that I’m that guy and you gone see me get to the top. “Can I get my check” is a metaphor for me wanting to check out of this depression and go back to being that joyous kid again.
