We shot this on a random night while traveling and the last shot stood out to me even back then which inspired me to create a score for it leading to this whole video now.
Musically I am inclined towards Thomas Bangalter, Ludwig Göransson, Alva Noto, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Hüma Utku; naming a few..
This whole thing has turned out to be an exercise for me Visually and Musically..which is something that I strive for as a multidisciplinary artist.

It used to be at Shums's place,
the only place you'd find me after I'd made a film in college.
There used to be only one thing left to do then —
for the coming 3–4 days:
them rehearsing, dancing,
me watching, contemplating —
realising I'm done with the film.
Exhale, now.
They'd ask me what I thought of their performance after every routine.
I'd reply with my own acute understanding of what they were doing.
Always — brutally honest.
No technical stuff.
Direct.
Pure feelings.
Allowing damn, fuck, insane — to slip out when I'd see all of them performing.
We'd chill, smoke,
them still discussing what needs to happen with their choreography.
I'm still scared to the bones,
thinking of my pre-submitted film.
What the fuck did I make?
They don't ask me how it was.
They claim to know how it'd be without seeing it.
Their confidence in me was always more than mine.
Not just theirs — almost everyone who'd watch my work at that time.
I was uncomfortable.
I am still.
The feeling of having not given enough.
Until a hug shushes the fuck out of me,
and in them my conditioning would melt.
I think in the next 4 days I will release my film.
No festival. No pay wall.
Only personal. Only raw.
One that I make with -
loss, love, festival rejections, no distribution plans, delays, a crazy supportive team, broke as fuck,
burnt out, given up.
The countdown has already begun.
I miss watching those dance practices with compounding stirrings in me.
i miss the hugs more.
