Ryan and I have been quietly working on something with an extended cast of subculture luminaries and all stars. The efforts of which are about ready to come to fruition.
Details soon.
Printed and posted a small handful of these razor tees on Comfort Colors yesterday and they sold out pretty much immediately (Thanks all!). Decided to open up a pre-order for another run (again on Comfort Colors) for anyone interested that missed out. Will be hitting the road this summer and don’t want to be stuck with any overstock that I’m not around to ship. So whatever gets picked up during pre-order will be all there is for a while. Window is open now until Wednesday 5/20. Shirts will print the following weekend and ship on Tuesday 5/26. Link in bio. Thanks.
52 collages in 2026 number 28. I was working on this one at the same time as the one from yesterday. Like I said, getting back in the zone. This one is just a little bigger than some of the recent previous ones and, accordingly, in a heavier frame. All cut and pasted and assembled from original source photos (per usual), this time shot in Texas, Michigan, and Finland. Historically when I’ve implemented this spray paint splatter effect I’d do it on a separate sheet of paper, photocopy it, and then build the collage on top from there. Or finish the collage and then do a copy of it on top of a copy of the spray paint. Either way in an effort to not fuck the whole thing up and ruin all of the effort of the collage up until that point if the splatter got away from me or dripped in a bad way. This time I rolled the dice and just went right in with it. Really happy that it worked out. I don’t like to be too proud, but I’m really really pleased with how this one came together. Full details and more pics at link bio. Thanks.
I was in Austin one day as a teenager flipping through records at Sound Exchange on the drag when a guy came in somewhat frantically looking for help or, to at minimum, use the shop’s phone. Apparently some crust punk had just hit his friend in the head outside with a lock tied on a bandana and he wasn’t well. That was the first time I heard the term “smiley”.
Anyway. 52 collages in 2026 number 27. Ink, china marker, aerosol enamel, toner, and glue on paper on cardstock. From original photographs. I feel like putting together that quick last one really did grease the gears and now I’m getting back in the zone. Full details, dimensions, a few more pics, and acquisition at link in bio. Matted, framed, and ready to go to a good home. Thanks.
Slowly working down a mountain of band related commissions. It’s not a mountain, it’s five. But some are much more involved than others. Needed to rest my eyes for a minute on those and have a little palate cleanser. Also falling behind on my 52 collages in 2026 ambition so I clipped this one together. Number 26. If you think this is the best thing I’ve ever done then I’m sorry for having failed you. It doesn’t even make sense. But hopefully the action itself will help shift my momentum on starting/finishing some others. Parts of this will very likely be repurposed. 🤷♂️
A poster I made for the big dawgs @cttboto for the first show of their upcoming US tour, and a couple of close-ups of the pre-text collage. Exactly one month out. Western Massachusetts turn up.
Last post about these. Pre-order is open until tomorrow Wednesday 4/22 at midnight. Will be ordering exactly however many shirts get purchased on Thursday, then print and ship by the end of the month. No extras, no holds, no size fill-ins, no re-prints. Running these on Comfort Colors, on the cheap. More pics and details at link in bio.
Massive massive thanks to everyone that has picked up one of these or the TXHC shirts so far! The response has far exceeded my expectations and my head is kind of spinning from it. Trying to get ahead of the eight ball a little bit and already printed and shipped a good chunk out yesterday. If you got on early when I first posted about these last week you may want to start checking your mailboxes. Thanks!
Massive thanks to everyone that has popped on the TXHC shirts from a couple of posts back. The response has been pretty overwhelming honestly. Preorders are still open until 4/22. Hardcore lives!
Here are some 20 +/- year old Texas specific show posters and fliers I’ve made. Some I screen printed, some just photocopied, but all were laid out and color separated by hand. These were from a time that I didn’t necessarily work exclusively from my own source photos for fliers. Nor did I have the forethought to put year dates or city outside of venue address on all of them for posterity. Today I’d do so many things differently - both in the art and the printing - but that’s the nature of existence in general I guess. There were so many others that I can’t find now or never kept, and so many more since, but I’m so stoked I got to be there. What a time.
