🌟 Thank You for a Powerful Spring Advocacy Day! 🌟
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for CALACAP’s 2026 Spring Advocacy Day — and a special thank you to Assemblymember Greg Hart and Assemblymember Dawn Addis for your leadership, insight, and commitment to improving mental health care for California’s children, youth, and families. Your engagement elevated the conversation and inspired meaningful dialogue and action. 👏🏾💚
Together, our members, trainees, and partners spent the day advocating for critical mental health policies and discussing some of the most pressing issues impacting children and families across California, including:
1. Protecting mental health parity and ensuring equal access to behavioral health care through AB 2011 (Hart)
2. Increasing transparency and accountability for insurance care denials through SB 363 (Wiener)
3. Supporting equitable, non-discriminatory access to health care through AB 1876 (Addis)
4. Promoting safer digital spaces and stronger online protections for children through AB 2246 (Wicks)
5. Opposing the proposed elimination of California’s statewide Medi-Cal Mobile Crisis Benefit for youth and families
Thank you to everyone who contributed your voice, expertise, and passion. Together, we are advancing meaningful change and supporting the mental health and well-being of California’s children and adolescents. 💚✨
