ABOUT CONFUCIUS MC.. *Rapper Confucius MC is a rapper from south London. He has been a close friend of mine since we were teenagers, and has had a huge influence on my life, my character and my rhyme-style. ABOUT NATCYET WAKILI.. *Drums Natcyet [Nat-chyet] is the latest formation of Edward Wakili-Hick’s (Sons of Kemet, Nala Sinephro, Cleo Sol, Kokoroko) solo project. Natcyet is Wakili-Hick’s ancestral name inherited from his father. Coming from the Tyap language of the Atyap people from Zangon Kataf LGA, Kaduna State, Nigeria. ABOUT WONKY LOGIC.. *Multi-instrumentalist Raised on a council estate in Leeds, producer and multi-instrumentalist (keyboard, guitar, bass, drums, percussion) Dwayne Kilvington started to make beats at the age of 11 on his mum’s computer after attending a youth group at Armley’s Interplay Theatre. He briefly attended Leeds College of Music where he met musicians on the jazz degree course and quickly started jamming and learning how to play jazz with Luke Wynter (Nubian Twist) and Geordan Reid Campbell (GEO) and klezmer with Leeds band Tantz. 2 years after moving to London in 2017 he became a founding member and bass player of the band Steam Down and started to become an integral part of the UK Jazz scene. He has toured extensively with many projects and collaborations in Europe, South America, Africa and Asia with artists such as Nightmares On Wax, Nubya Garcia, Theon Cross, Wiyaala, John Carroll Kirby and K.O.G. Wonky Logic also connected with veteran producer I.G Culture (Co-op) after playing keyboard for a show for I.G’s collective "Selectors Assemble", which he is also a part of. They have since worked on an album for which Wonky Logic was Musical Director called Earthbound by LCSM. Wonky Logic has also been musical director for LA Soul legend Eddie Chacon during his time in the UK and Europe. His current projects include his own band with Nache aka Edward Hick (Sons of Kemet) as well as The General Elation Soundsystem alongside Brother Portrait and Nadeem Din-Gabisi. He is involved as writer and synth player with Nala Sinephro (Warp Records) and tours with the live band, synth bass with afrofuturism band ONIPA and has recently played on Emma Jean Thackray’s project Um-Yang alongside Soweto Kinch. ABOUT HEIDI VOGEL.. *Singer Vocalist with The Cinematic Orchestra since 2006, Heidi appears on their albums ” To Believe “ , “Live at the Royal Albert Hall “, “ Late Night Tales “ and has opened for Erykah Badu in Dubai, performed at Montreux Jazz festival for Quincy Jones and appeared live on The Jimmy Kimmel Show on ABC , as well as performing at The Sydney Opera House and with The Krakow Symphony Orchestra , The Heritage Orchestra, The London Metropolitan Orchestra . Heidi performed with The Cinematic Orchestra concluding a 2019 USA tour at the prestigous Los Angeles Walt Disney Hall where she performed with Patrick Watson, Moses Sumney, and Miguel Atwood Ferguson. In 2024 the album Endless Planets (deluxe edition) was released on Flying Lotus’ label - Brainfeeder, featuring Heidi as Austin’s vocalist. ABOUT DOMINIC J MARSHALL.. *Keys Marshall's 2013 album Spirit Speech - ‘an excellent, imaginative and distinctive album that repays repeated listens’ (LondonJazzNews) led him to be unanimously selected by Jamie Cullum, Gilles Peterson and Jez Nelson to perform at BBC Introduces, Manchester Jazz Festival that year. In 2015 Dominic became the pianist for British nu-jazz group The Cinematic Orchestra, with whom he has performed all over the world including at Montreux Jazz Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Tokyo SummerSonic, Brixton Academy, Royal Festival Hall and LA’s Walt Disney Concert Hall. He also co-wrote 'Lessons', one of the hits from their acclaimed album To Believe. Dominic's hip-hop covers album Cave Art was one of KMHD’s top 10 jazz albums of 2015. UK Vibe called 2016's The Triolithic "a very entertaining and refreshingly original album that is worthy of high praise." 2017’s beat-tape Silence’s Garden sold out quickly on Acorn Tapes, Bringing Down The Band reflecting "These tracks have a great vintage texture, and a whole lot of bounce". ABOUT WATUSI87.. *Rapper Born and raised in Ladbroke Grove, London, Watusi87 grew up in a household deeply rooted in Afro-Caribbean culture, which inspires the infusion of jazz, reggae, soul, R&B in his brand of Hip Hop. A gifted lyricist from an early age, he started writing from the days of house and garage and has since used percussion and melody to enhance his unique style. Though Watusi87 has been active for over a decade, with videos on YouTube dating as far back, he brought his revolutionary spirit and astral energy to full effect in ‘Moments of Truth LP’ in 2019 - his first full release. He followed up soon after with his 2020 release of Flava, his most highly acclaimed album to date. After a brief pause during COVID, 2024 has brought his freshest content yet, with Love Equals Opportunity (2024).
