In 2015, the U.S. and several world powers reached a nuclear agreement with Iran under Barack Obama. It placed strict limits on Iran’s nuclear program and allowed international inspections. For years, inspectors confirmed Iran was complying.
In 2018, Donald Trump withdrew from that deal and reinstated sanctions. After that, Iran resumed expanding its nuclear activity.
That withdrawal was the turning point.
The deal wasn’t perfect, but it created guardrails. Once it was torn up without a stronger replacement, escalation became predictable.
Now we’ve seen major military strikes, including last year’s action and the current conflict. This administration says we did not start this war. But when you abandon a functioning agreement, escalate sanctions, and initiate direct military strikes, you can’t realistically claim zero responsibility for how this unfolded.
Israel has long viewed Iran as a threat and that alliance influences U.S. policy. But the decision to dismantle a working framework and move toward confrontation was ours.
In my opinion, these attacks were not inevitable. They were the result of removing something that was limiting risk without putting something better in place.
Policy decisions have consequences. We’re living in them now
I remember this over one year ago, now I'm about 45 days away from marrying my best friend, my soul mate, my heart. The best think that has ever happened to me. Ms. Jamilia Hall soon to be Mrs. Jamilia Anderson! Oh how I love this woman.....
Highlight of my Friday night, taking out my baby girls braids so we can get her hair done tomorrow. Really missing my other half right now @jamiliahall
