👻Spooky Tooth🦷
In the shop we have this ‘76 Les Paul Standard/Deluxe.
Original full-sized humbuckers were factory installed instead of mini humbuckers, the truss rod says Standard, but the back of the headstock says “Deluxe!” 🤔
Gibson wasn’t making a ton of Standards previous to ‘76, so when they did they used what was on hand, “Deluxe” labeled necks.
What’s more interesting is the phrase “Spooky Tooth” written under the lacquer under the truss rod (last photo). We have no way of connecting this guitar to the Mick Jones group Spooky Tooth, but it does add to the vibe and uniqueness of this Les Paul.
