Beginning on the last Saturday of each month in 2025, we will be inviting the public and individuals interested in stop-motion and the animation process to attend our Animation Jams. Each month a different professional animator will be on site at MOSMA HQ working on a short piece of animation and we want to invite you to meet the animators, other stop-motion industry professionals, ask questions, network, and potentially take a few frames of animation!
THIS MONTHS GUEST ANIMATOR CHRIS OHLGREN
For Chris Ohlgren a childhood hobby turned in to a profession in 1995 when the college business graduate took an internship at Will Vinton Studios doing computer animation. A passionate Claymation fan, he shifted into stop-motion series animation in 1998. From that point on, he has moved back and forth between the two mediums. In July 2005 Will Vinton Studios became Laika, and then in 2014, Laika shifted away from commercial work, and House Special spun off to create an independent studio. Riding through the changes and currently working at HouseSpecial, Chris took a hiatus in 2021 to animate on Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio. He has also taught evening animation classes at The Art Institute of Portland. Chris Ohlgren is primarily an animator, but has worked in many areas of animation production including sculpting, puppet fabrication, model making, carpentry, computer modeling, rigging and 3D printing. _____________________________________________We look forward to seeing you! $15 Limited availability.
