Now that Lugar Plaza is officially a city park, we’ve refreshed the rules and guidelines to help everyone enjoy the space safely.
Let’s keep it clean, safe, and welcoming for all✨
Construction is in full swing at 37 Place Community Center!
Some updates include:
- PNC Bank volunteering time to the nature-based playground
- Early childhood education expansion of two classrooms & kitchen refresh
- KIPP professional development/training space
- Exterior building repairs
Phase 1 began mid-February with the support of a $3M investment for the building.
While construction is making great progress, this building has many plans for impactful renovations still to come.
Join us as we host community information sessions focused on data centers and proposed zoning regulations.

All community information sessions will be streamed live on Channel 16, recorded, and posted on the city-county website.

This week, DMD kicked off the 2026 People's Planning Academy: Planning 101!
Session 1 covered introductions & community engagement.

DMD had the opportunity to spend our day of service outside at Hanna Commons!
The DMD staff joined residents in gardening, planting, picking up sticks in the pocket park, clearing garbage around the property, staining the gazebo, and prepping garden beds & the greenhouse for summer!
Hanna Commons is a 55-unit permanent supportive housing community providing Indianapolis residents with stable housing and essential support services. Thank you to the residents & staff who welcomed and spent a wonderful day outside with us.

DMD has updated the process for requesting PILOT commitment letters for prospective Low-Income Housing Tax Credit projects as well as a new online application form.

LIHTC applications for summer 2026 seeking letters from the City should submit a Housing Pipeline Intake Form by March 31.
