alex ehmer is a mixed-media artist whose practice intertwines material experimentation with investigations into non-traditional objects and forms. working primarily with latex, wax, clay, and sourced or discarded materials, ehmer draws from concepts of the readymade to challenge conventional distinctions of what is considered art.
informed by psychological, medical, and sociological frameworks, the work navigates intersections of personal memory and dialogue, using material to examine how lived experience is constructed, processed, and externalized.

excited to introduce and highlight work by new york city-based artist, margaret maclean (@margaretamaclean ). originally from scotland, maclean studied at the glasgow school of art, mica, and florence academy of art.
margaret maclean paints from a state between waking life and dreams—a world of bodily urgency, yet perpetually slipping in and out of focus. the artist’s gestural hand, the fluidity in working with oil, maclean conjures figures that are recognizably human but never quite stable: flesh merging into atmosphere, faces and expressions half-formed, identities in flux.
the artist will have her first solo exhibition in los angeles, ca with induction gallery later this year.

Jake Ziemann’s work balances bodily forms with everyday objects and industrial supports. Through material dualities and formal gestures, he explores the tensions between stability and vulnerability, the found and the handmade, and the abstract and the figurative. Using materials evocative of the artist’s studio and construction, his sculptures reflect the labor of building relationships with others and the world around him.

pleased to highlight works by LA-based artist Jacob Barri (@jacob.barri ).
Barri’s work is driven by ideas tied to homoeroticism, queer histories, how authenticity emerges through performance, and how capitalism has made queer culture more famous than any queer person. through installation, found imagery, traditional photography, and alternative printing processes, Barri investigates these concepts.
in the words of the artist, "Key to the Castle serves as a reminder to myself of the emotional vulnerability that comes along with being acquiescent. By using a chastity cage, locking it up, and giving the key to someone else, I am giving someone the key to my castle. Now, that castle is on display for all to see.
This chastity cage is made of hard plastic. I am allowing it to operate semiotically by printing the photogravure in black ink on extremely delicate, lightweight paper. Through this gesture, I seek to move it away from its direct objectivity."
