The INDOT Hoosier Helpers, sponsored by @geico are riding alongside you every mile of the way during Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. Helmets can save a life. If you’re riding, protect yourself and always wear a DOT-compliant helmet and high visibility gear. Learn how to find the right fit at NHTSA.gov/Motorcycles. Cover your arms and legs, wear over-the-ankle boots, and don’t forget gloves for protection and grip. Being seen is being safe. Before you shift DOWN, check UP. Make sure your motorcycle is road-ready: • Tire pressure & tread depth • Brakes, headlights & signals • Fluid levels • No oil or gas leaks • Secure, balanced cargo If the unexpected happens, the Hoosier Helpers are ready. We service all types of vehicles including motorcycles. This month and every month let’s keep every ride a safe one. #GEICOSafetyPatrol

This National Police Week, remember to slow down and move over when you see emergency vehicles along the roadway. This simple act can help make the roadway safer for everyone.

Before summer begins, the INDOT Hoosier Helpers, sponsored by @geico , want to help spread a lifesaving message: heatstroke can happen faster, and at lower temperatures, than you think. While summertime is peak season, vehicular heatstroke can occur in outside temperatures as low as 60°. Protect the most precious passengers in your vehicle: NEVER leave a child unattended in a vehicle. Make it a habit to look in the back seat EVERY time you exit. Children can also gain access to unlocked vehicles and become trapped, so always lock your car and keep keys out of reach. A hot car can turn deadly in minutes. As we head into warmer months, let’s work together to prevent tragedies. One look in the back seat could save a life. #GEICOSafetyPatrol

Planting season is upon us here in the Hoosier state which means you are much more likely to meet large farm equipment on the roadway. Farm equipment is wide and sometimes takes up most of the road. Be careful and patient when passing equipment this spring. #Plant2026 #SafePlantIN Find out what you should do if you meet equipment on the roadway here: https://bit.ly/4cRodC7
