Ruth Asawa has always been a treasure here in San Francisco. Her drawings and sculptures always captivate, especially mid century modern aficionados. We are very excited the Ruth Asawa Team has opened a permanent exhibit space at the @minnesotastreetproject here in Dogpatch. We visited opening day on Sunday, May 9, along with lots of other Ruth fans. We had a great talk with Henry, her grandson, who heads the organization. After taking in the exhibition we enjoyed an Asawa Spritz in Minnesota Grove. Stop by the exhibition in a Dogpatch. You won’t be disappointed.

Highlights from Thursday’s Dogpatch Design Studio Tour organized by the Dogpatch Arts and Business Association (DABA). Some 45 people walked from The Museum of Craft and Design to Something Else Studio to FutureForms to Letterform Archive finishing up at interior design studio Chroma. Dogpatch is fortunate to have these creative forces who keep our maker culture alive.

Come take a tour of Olivier’s French Butchery in Dogpatch. People come from all over the Bay Area to experience what many feel is the best butcher in San Francisco. One more reason we love living in Dogpatch.

From our morning walk around Dogpatch on a rainy day. Scenes from Progress Park, Woods yard and the Shepard Fairey mural site. Dogpatch is such a great place full of hidden jewels.

Minnesota Grove in Dogpatch is back! We missed it. In the early 2000s Dogpatch resident David Hall took an abandoned piece of dirt and started planting. He told me once that he wanted a sort of English Garden concept with plants from different places populating the garden. Over the years the grove expanded. A succulent area on the south end extended it so that it stretches from 24th to 25th street. A few years ago the Green Benefit District @greenbenefitdistrict started maintaining the Grove and it just kept getting better. Recently it was closed for a LONG time and the often muddy path down the middle was replaced by an ADA accessible paved path. It’s another of the many great green spaces here @indogpatch Dogpatch. It’s a great place to visit while visiting the @minnesotastreetproject or the @thedogpatchhub
