Reliving NURA 🙏 Back in February this year, NURA made history as the first jungle and drum & bass cultural exchange programme of its kind in East Africa, led by genre pioneers Fabio & Grooverider. Held over seven days in Kilifi, Kenya, the event, founded by @we.are.noise and @indigoreigntheofficial and powered by AlphaTheta, provided comprehensive creative development while uplifting local artists. The programme featured masterclasses and talks, a writing camp led by Krust and Syren Rivers, a DJ camp hosted by Darren Jay and KÜRÏBÃ, and recording sessions with Kool FM. Following a multi-camera cinematic broadcast by OffGrid, the event concluded with NURAFEST, a showcase of Nura participants headlined by Fabio & Grooverider. Moving forward, NURA aims to provide an ongoing platform for East African talent by providing legacy hubs in Kilifi & Nairobi. With NURA 2 already confirmed for 2026, the platform is set to expand its reach, with plans underway to secure partnerships that will bring Kenyan producers and DJs to major UK stages.

⚪ Kerry O’Brien (Indigo Reign) @indigoreigntheofficial is a visionary creative, changemaker, and founder of the Young Urban Arts Foundation (YUAF @yuafofficial an award-winning UK charity that empowers young people through music, creativity, and outreach. ⚪ Her flagship double-decker studio bus brings access to communities with little or no connection to the arts, acting as a lifeline at a time when youth clubs continue to close across the UK. ⚪ An influential figure in the UK’s underground music scene and one of the first female MCs under the name Lady MC, Kerry helped carve space for women in jungle before evolving into Indigo Reign, a project that channels lived experience into lyrical truth while bridging culture, healing, and grassroots empowerment.
