Long long ago, longer than it takes a malabar red tailed squirrel to smash out the best kothu parota this side of bandipur on a plate that had seen better mouths, there existed a yakshi who wanted to see the world and ended up sleeping on a log floating down the sarayu down to bhuloka where she met the most amazing group of pronouns ever, each of them having completed a himalayan vacation before the age of 26 and with complete command of thier senses even when nobody was looking at them.
A calendar for 2026 l On sale at indigoranges.in
This calendar is a series of personal observations about the people of this city called Bengaluru, that I have been lucky to call home for some years now. Each page covers an aspect of this city that has always intrigued and inspired me, and made me wonder and smile.
So what does āPutting Sceneā mean?
I am told by some of the resident Bengalureans, especially from the east and cantonment side, that this is be a term to denote a good time spent with friends, where nothing much has to happen and yet fun is had by all. Thatās what I hope youāll take back from these little scenes of daily Bengaluru that await you. And hopefully make you curious about the people and cultures that thrive around you.

This volume covers one of the most eventful periods of subcontinental history - spanning a course from the Chalukyas to the arrival of the Arabs and the rise of the Cholas to the Sultanate of Delhi, moving down to the Deccan and the Portuguese and going north to the Mughals all the way to the often overlooked Ahoms. And all this while keeping it simple, engaging and most importantly, fun.
The book is open to ages 10 and above. And is available in major bookstores across India and amazon.in by the time you read this.

A childrenās book designed for high school kids, this book is a thoughtful exploration of childrenās inner world- their emotions, imagination, behaviour, and unique way of seeing life. Through sensitive observations and relatable experiences, it encourages adults to better understand children with empathy, patience, and respect. The book presents childhood not as something to control, but as a world to listen to and learn from.

You been hit by.. you been hit by .. a smooth crishnamachari.
In the five years that have passed after his dear wife passed away in a tragic reels accident when her eyes rolled up into her head during scrolling reels into the late hours, crishnamachari has come to believe that crishnammal has reincarnated as a pink badami and can only be found in the basket owned by anni mangalachmi bsc., - she who can always found in her place in front of the poosnikapalayam manjunatha temple, surrounded by her furry bhairavs. And every Thursday our smooth crishnamachari slides up to her to ask " are you ok anni. Are You OK Anni!!!?"
And our dear Anni, just shows him the pinkest badami in her basket and lets him look at the love of his life for a little while before the day and its rigours take over.
...the only child and the worlds they build inside their heads. And of their imaginary companions, and the long discussions and confessions and brain storming that happens beneath the stars.
Reflecting on a recent trip to the eternal city, safe to say that it would take me three to four walking days just to calm down to a point where I can allow myself to find a spot on the ghats and just sit. And reflect on what I was witnessing, both outside and within me. And to record the findings in these doodles you see here. Much thanks are in order to the furry bhairavs for checking up on my progress with your wet noses. Though I would say that too much ParleG isn't good for you boys.
From the pan waley chaccha and his chatty friends to the bengali aunties with their directions over overbrewed chai, and the oversharing helper boys at the andhra mess, the boatmen who appear out of nowhere and guide you to the best seats for the ganga aarti, there is always a guide. Everything out there feels like a message and a sign. And yet it feels like the most relaxed and non-serious place to be.
And by the way, there is a beacon of pure light and loving energy who resides in a tiny hole in the wall right next to the dhandapani bhairava temple, hope you get to meet her next time you are there.
